Don't want to get into a debate here, I respect your right to your opinion. Generationaly, we see things differently. That's fine with me. We all want a nationally relevant IU basketball team. We just sometimes disagree about how we get there.

As I said, others may view things differently. I have no problem with that. For me personally, winning no matter what or how is not something I'm interested in.

It really becomes a question of whether or not you are willing to sell your soul to win a few more games. To me that's not how you build a program with integrity. When we get to the point when winning is all that matters, I am probably done. I understand that others have different views on how we become a national player again, but there are things that I'm not willing to do.

Given their recruiting success, I think it's fair to say they have under achieved. The best team I have seen them have was the year they lost to Wisconsin. That loss, in my opinion, was completely on Calipari. To me, he is a great salesman who has a line that appeals to some very good kids but a mediocre coach. With the talent he has had he should have multiple National Championships by now. And the one they have, could have easily have been ours.

We aren't going to go injury free throughout the year. The depth will pay dividends as frontline guys miss games for whatever reason. Having ten guys who can play doesn't mean that ten guys will play every game. I just feel way more comfortable about the guys on the bench this year than last. Could be the difference between winning and losing in some games.

There are plenty of beatable teams in B1G, and we are at the top of that list. Sadly!!

Don't know anything about the kid, but it is important to remember that he is young and easily influenced by outside people. We don't know who is in his ear or advising him. I'm always uncomfortable being negative about kids when we don't know what their circumstances are. I hope he finds what he needs. Personally, I think he probably should have stayed with Matt Painter.

I want only good things for that kid. Given what he has gone through, he deserves everything he gets.

If LD can add reliable depth in the frontcourt and Banks can earn minutes, we are going to be very good. Maybe national conversation good.

Maybe somewhere in an alternate universe.

Do recruits get to interact (socially) with other students (girls) while on official visits? Or is that sort of thing just a U of L practice?

That should help us, right? I don't want anyone we are recruiting anywhere close to the football program.

As long as we recruit at the bottom of the conference we will finish at the bottom of the conference. The AD has to do some serious soul searching and decide what kind of football program we want to be. but though decisions are part of the job. That a school like Northwestern is routinely better than IU is embarrassing and unacceptable.

No kidding, but he has had some time to make his reads so far. Just disappointing that he has been so off.

It takes a special kind of kid to want to play football at IU, or one with no better choices.

I love hearing that he is really good, but would really like to have him for more than one year. A year two Jalen could push to the next level and give us sustainability. Having good players for multiple years is the key to getting where we want to go in my opinion.

Apparently we are striving for a small, athletic team, ala the late '80s "flyin Illini". Worked pretty well for them. These decisions are way above my pay grade.
