You’re really going to Babies R Us from 12-2 and not watching? You can shop anytime Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
I really thought Forrester had a ton of upside and could have been really good for us the course of a 4-5 year career. I understand that he had a hard time learning plays and was foul prone but he never really got a shot. He never was in a game long enough to settle in and get comfortable. He was so hyper when in because he was like a caged animal. I think some of that would have worn off in time. I look at our likely loss of all 3 of our bigs in the next 1-2 years and a guy like Forrester would be ready to take on the big minutes but he was run off Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Allen seems like a good recruiter and good motivator. It appears, not just from one game but several this year, he is not a great in-game coach. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Our bad shooters continue to dominate our shooting
MikeRoberts replied to Brass Cannon's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Well said I think the biggest issue is that we start chucking and lose the momentum/game. Not that it happens all game every game. We play smart for long stretches and then just 100% abandon what’s worked and go to a lazy/selfish mode that is baffling. It usually involves Green Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Hes my Hanner Perea - great size and hope coming in. I wonder if this is tied to his medical condition or if he just wasn’t ready regardless Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

What players on our current team were recruited to be shooters? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I think that is the truth that some don’t understand. It doesn’t matter who you hire when it comes to “big names” as some have called them and alleges to nobody being interested. “Big name”, “small name” who cares? It comes down to what they do when they get here. I have no doubt we all would have freaked out if we hired a D3 coach or something but if they won everyone would shut up. A D3 coach, Archie, Brad Stevens... as long as we get back to winning ways and do it before we’re all dead the fans would ecstatic. There are plenty of non “big names” that have taken over programs recently doing an exceptional job! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Ouch! Speaking of which, did you notice several players were front ending our free throws? Might that have to do with our weight training? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Their coach will likely lead them to 4 straight NCAA tourneys and then take the next big job like many previous Butler coaches. I have no idea who the Butler AD is but if it’s been the same one for the past 10-20 years I wouldn’t mind IU looking him/her. They seem to know how to find good coaches and deal with a constant influx of new coaches over and over again with little to no drop off. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Would love to see plays run for Al, Rob and Green where they are all running off screens for catch and shoot 3s, vs them dribbling aimlessly around the key with nobody moving and them taking a contested step back three at the end of the shot clock. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
What was posted was 25% from 3 and 70% from the line. Are you seeing something different? Also, in regards to immediate help, is he in your mind going to come in and play considerable minutes for us? If not, then he doesn’t address next years needs, more for the future Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Yeah, elite to me means bigten defensive player of the year or minimally all-defensive team and I don’t see him making any of those. Not saying his defense is bad, just not that elite. It’s been his offense that has been surprisingly suspect Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I think your referring to TJD but we have point guard needs and center needs and shooting needs and any good player we recruit could come in and start over any guys we have at those positions/roles. The only player that’s starting minutes are safe is TJD. Not hard to go out and tell a top center there are minutes for you, not hard to tell a great shooter you would have the green light to launch etc. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I can’t speak for everyone nor do I believe everyone thinks this, probably a generalization on your part but it is possible he leaves after this year and imo very likely he leaves after his sophomore season. Davis is gone, Brunk is gone after next season and TJD is likely gone. Many could argue that that combo of TJD and Brunk has been our bright spot/most consistent and it will most likely be gone after next season and that’s ok, but you have to plan for it and reload. There just doesn’t seem to be any plan for these two leaving. Archie could land another 5* and grad transfer after this year and see no fall off but that is a huge gamble. The more obvious and safer thing to do is fill one of those needs this year and only leave one to be filled for the following year, allowing this freshmen a year in the system in backup minutes. I felt this way when we had Yogi and Crean never back filled that Point Guard spot Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

With Davis gone, we officially have 1 returning center that will be a senior. You don’t think we should have a backup and player in the fold to take over the minutes? Why wait to address until the cupboard is 100% bare? That seems like mismanagement of a roster Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I’ve seen this posted on here but are you hearing there are legs to this? I would be all for him coming in next year, overrated or not, he’s still as good or better than Phinisee and would at a minimum give us depth at a very shaky position for us Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
-
I wish I could end that statement with the word “way”. We are severely lacking shooters, ball handlers and after this season will need a center. It’s tbd as to whether Phinisee ever becomes the OG leader we need but regardless, we need another like yesterday. We have zero great shooters on this team and that’s been the case since Archie got here and it’s crushing to watch teams sag off and clog the lane for drives and post play. Our bigs are actually pretty good with TJD and Brunk but much of that is TJD and he could be gone after this year, very likely gone after next year along with Brunk and we have nobody on the roster that is clearly developing into a replacement for either. Sooooo... one would expect if we looked at our incoming recruits we would be addressing the above 3 needs, but instead we’re bringing in 3 combo guards/small forwards that don’t fill any of our needs. Maybe Leal can be the shooter we need but he isn’t the instant impact guy that can be expected to right away - he’s no Kyle Guy What is the staffs strategy/thoughts as we go into next year with this team and our incoming players? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Brunk TJD Smith Durham Phinisee Those 5 should all play 30 and keep the rotation short. No need to play more than 8 on a regular basis Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Not true at all. WIN. That’s all the fans want. When Crean has great players in his own backyard that he wasn’t recruiting or were going elsewhere and we were forced to go East AND we weren’t winning is where he lost the fans Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

TJD was a McDonalds All-American and has played like it from day one... im glad to see him living up to expectations, he has been the one bright spot for us Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

We need him to be a point guard, knock down shooter or center:) He might be great for us, I just don’t understand how this recruiting class solves our needs Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Agree - the improvement from Damezi went from can’t catch to can catch from year 1 to 2. Not sure we will ever see the amount of improvement needed for him to be what we need Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
