Tom Allen gets 7 year extension: What do contracts do for the school? It seems like the coach can walk away from them without penalty but the school is handcuffed. Anyone, maybe Stu understand the specifics and why any school would want to grant such a long contract? Why not 3 or 5 as you can always extend? If Allen loses every game for the next 3 years we are stuck paying off the remaining 4 years but if he wins 10 games a year for the next year he could get poached by florida state and be gone with no penalty right? Hmm, yes I don’t recall any saying we shouldn’t recruit one but I do recall many saying it wasn’t a necessity nor a big deal we were striking out on them. So the net net is that many didn’t think it was important. I am lazy to find it but my response was that we were a Phinisee injury away from missing the tourney again. The last part is certainly tbd but it’s a real issue. What’s also an issue is that Archie is a point guard, this should be point guard U but we have an injury ridden 4 star pg as our only true option there. Agreed. Not sure offensively we are missing anything with him being out. I think Al and Green are better offensively - phinisee started his freshmen year well and hasn’t looked the same since Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I agree with all of this but not regarding “healthy”. We’re only missing one player right now due to health issues... this is GOOD! I’ve seen too many of these types of performances for my liking. People talk about the injuries last year but regardless there were plenty of games where we just flat out didn’t show up and just went through the motions. When? I think you are looking at this from Teske and Simpsons best vs Rojo and Morgan’s worst. Rojo and morgan were the ideal role players in their earlier years and were two of the better players in the league as upperclassmen averaging 14 and 15 ppg respectively as seniors. He might not want to take this up but I will. I would take Morgan and Rojo over Teske and Simpson any day, not to mention Newkirk, Davis, Green etc. he had pieces. This Michigan team is not loaded with studs, just pieces that are working well together, something IU has had but hasn’t gotten to work the past few seasons. These aren’t just players from an NIT team but players from a BigTen championship team and also a sweet 16 team. That’s right. I think many like to underplay the talent that returned Archie’s first 2 seasons as if we were naturally a bottom feeder. Love me a nitro, enjoying a bourbon county stout right now, having my gravy and beer at the same time. Watching Michigan today I was impressed. Howard didn’t inherit a team of scrubs but he also didn’t inherit any sure fire nba guys either. They are just solid from 1-8 and I hope IU turns out to be as well once we start playing legitimate teams here soon. This bigten seems to be very lopsided with OSU, UM , MU and maybe MSU at the top and then a million question marks there after. No reason IU can’t be 5th place behind those 4.
