I don’t know. He has been able to make Houston relevant again, a tourney team again and kept his players eligible. Why would there need to be a rebuild? This should be a 20+ win team so a new coach would inherit 5 starters from what should be a 20+ win team. Build on that with good coaching and in year 1 could be a 25 win team and hopefully never look back Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

The fans have had it. Even old fart who is pretty positive said this product isn’t fun to watch. Why spend your money on something that isn’t fun? Outside of a few games we can expect the crowds to be spotty and only get worse and worse as this continues. Purdue, MSU etc are now the exception and not the rule. I am purely speculating but can imagine a scenario where the administration heard he was threatening or challenging players that didn’t want to buy in to transfer and told him to cool on that type of threat/talk. The lost opportunity is that we could have added more ‘Archie’ players through transfer, d-1/juco, grad transfers etc. the only reason we can say the seniors aren’t his is because he never added any to that class. I know, I feel like he was very early to jump to the conclusion that Crean wasn’t the right guy - I ended up joining him in that belief a year or two after but he was early and pretty down on Crean and the state of the program. warning signs are here again but he isn’t fazed and I don’t understand it. I said it before but I’m glad he is on board with what’s happening because it gives me some faith it can get better. Just watched a few minutes of the Kentucky game and while they’re having a down year, I’m seeing some great set plays with their guard driving and dishing off to their big that is on the opposite side. Start Durham and Phinisee at guard and rotate in franklin for a 3 man guard rotation, that’s 26+ minutes each, totally doable. If we filled one of the two open scholarships we could have added a fourth without even thinking about playing Green Then play hunter at the 3 and TJD and Brunk. That gives us 3 shooters on the court vs 2. Having Smith, TJD and Brunk in there at the same time gives us little to no outside threats Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Others don’t get passes but “he has won us games and the others haven’t isn’t true. Green has lost us a bunch of games, I cannot recall the others being the catalyst for losses like green. I also recall Al hitting big threes to win the game against MSU last week, Phinisee hitting the big shot to beat Butler, Armaam hitting the corner three for a win. Come on now, we’ve had years of cordial responses, no need to suggest I am blind. I also haven’t mentioned firing Archie and all complaints I have made about him live in this one thread that was built for said comments. His recruits or not, he has not only kept Crean’s guys but he plays them. They have been with Archie for 3 years and if they are cancers or unable to learn his system, whatever that may be, that’s on him to replace them - he hasn’t so he doesn’t get a pass. He actually left 2 scholarships open, not used, wasted. If he wanted to be old and stay old, maybe use those on some grad transfers that can come in and help, perhaps replacing those two cancers that Crean recruited. Maybe, just maybe one of those guys could put the ball in the basket? Then he would have an entire roster of HIS guys and his guys in every single class... it was there for him to do that and he didn’t and that is on him, no excuses Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I’m not firmly in the fire Archie camp, but why is next year so important? Why is it more important than this one? Why should we expect anything different? This year is pivotal to me - 3rd year and trending downward down the stretch again in another year where our post season life is again in jeopardy. Still doing the same stuff as years 1 and 2. Slow, plodding, motionless offense, no shooters, no slashers and can’t get the ball into the post and go through long long scoreless stretches multiple times a game without a timeout, without a sure fire play to break out of the funk. Defensively we aren’t great. I’ve seen worse but we don’t do the fundamentals well. Hedging our on every play despite the opponent sending their screener to the basket for open dunks or kick outs to for wide open 3s. Standing around and not blocking out when the shot goes up. Many attacked me but it shocked me that we left 2 scholarships open. Why? There are injuries, transfers and just players that need benching and leaving two open scholarships limits us greatly.
