  1. That story never gets old
  2. Garrett and Smart were national champions and drafted early in the 2nd round. X and Reneau have a long way to go to hit any mile stones those guys did
  3. On a truly AMAZiNG team, none of our returning players are starters.
  4. Galloway is a 3 if we are putting players in a role they can excel at. Where he is more active, quicker than the player he matches up against he is great. Where he has to guard a quick point guard his best strengths are mitigated
  5. Bacot and Reneau are similar players that need space, excel 1x1 when the floor is spaced. Bacot struggled without that and so will Reneau. Need to put him in a place to excel
  6. Not many Brady Manek’s around but that transfer to UNC was their difference maker and IU could really use someone like that
  7. Who are the stretch 4s in the portal that would be good targets? good defender that can guard the post that can rebound and hit 3s?
  8. If JHS comes back with X, Gallo, Reneau that is a solid core but need another stud in that lineup that hopefully we find in the portal
  9. What are you even arguing? You really believe he shouldn’t have been recruited because of his lack of athleticism? He played against a lot of good players in high school and AAU and held is own just fine. he may not have fit in with the staff and players here and that is fine but stop with the athleticism Bs. There are thousands of players that’s have contributed at the p5 level without crazy athleticism.
  10. This is my point. None of those guys were athletic, but had a place at IU and carrol at PU. None were world beaters but only a tiny fraction are. all the comments about him lacking athleticism and therefore should never have been recruited to IU are completely garbage. he has plenty of athleticism to succeed at IU, there have been countless others before him that have been contributors - seems like he is lacking in effort. effort is not athleticism- athleticism isn’t the issue
  11. You are now talking skill sets and not athleticism which is what I found offensive and no, Brian Evans and Kirk haston we’re not good athletes and no better than Lindemen nor Duncomb.
  12. Jack Nunge? What is an acceptable answer that doesn’t move the goal post related to that comment?
  13. Maybe at Indiana but it happens all the time. Bryce Hopkins sits the bench at UK, says he didn’t get a fair shake, transfers to Providence and puts on a show
  14. Why? I haven’t heard of him being a bad kid or anything so why that treatment?
  15. It very well could be a lack of desire or effort and if that is the case, I hope he realizes that and corrects that. the idea that we shouldn’t ever recruit a kid of his athleticism isn’t fair, there are plenty of successes that makes that statement a weak one. effort overcomes that if he doesn’t have that then I agree on him moving on. We need effort guys
  16. We will find out in the next two years why it wasn’t a good fit. It could be 100% that he wasn’t good enough, it could be other things. Reyna is the most electric soccer player in America and saw almost zero playing time in this years World Cup. Sometimes there is more to the story and we will find out if he can play or not - just won’t be at IU
  17. Not just picking on you because there are a lot of posts that are pretty negative about Logan, even if they end with “I wish him well” they are still pretty harsh and unfair. we never saw Logan play… we have no idea what he can or can’t do. Is he any more/less athletic than a Brian Evan’s or Kirk Haston? no doubt it wasn’t a good fit but kudos to him for coming back last year when everyone thought he would transfer then.
  18. Did you watch the first 1/3 of the season? How many point guards did we have on the court at the same time? 2 im not sure why you keep saying there are only 40 minutes available and XJ is getting 36 of them. If we get another “dawg” of a point guard he will start both and both can get 36 a game or whatever number you want to make up
  19. There are an unlimited amount of minutes at PG. we had 80 a game available early on and that shrunk to 40 because we were limited. We need more speed, more ball handling, more players that can create and despite opinion - XJ is not guaranteed to be back at all and if he is, he is not gauaranteed to be his old self after a season ending injury. That, coupled with Cupps having never played a minute at the P5 college level suggests we need another solid Pg. galloway is a 3, playing him at the 1should be a worst case scenario
  20. A good passer and shooter
  21. It’s the banging part that I am disputing and would intersecting to hear their commentary on the banging TJD is not a banger by any means, the most guardlike big in the country
  22. -17 rebounding margin epitomizes this years team. We were bigger, stronger up front than most teams and yet would routinely get out rebounded. It was almost entirely a lack of effort. Almost no effort to offensive rebound, immediately retreating back when shots go up. It was maddening
  23. Not putting words in others mouths but I think the point was that he wouldn’t stand out as a “dog” if he played for Miami, Houston or another team like that. he stands out at IU because there aren’t a lot of “dogs” on the team. Galloway is the closest to that but has limitations
