Man, you are generous. Davis was a huge disaster, the start of our massive decline and loss of status and allure in-state. Sampson, almost dismantled the program. Crean couldn’t find any level of consistency and further eroded in-state attraction. Archie missed the tourney in year 1 and is on the verge of missing again in year two and we are massively regressing, looking lost and disinterested in what should have been a top 25 season with a tourney bid. This seems to contradict everything that is out there and that is a lot of folks biggest concern. Dakich called Archie and the staff soft the other day and there are a lot of folks that agreed with that sentiment. Also, if you look at his recruits, they are just as soft and not blue collar as Creans decaying leftovers. I don’t think his detractors don’t like him for his honesty. I also wouldn’t call it honesty or truth, I would call it his opinion. He is certainly not afraid to share his opinion, some of which is very accurate and other times is very inaccurate but stated as fact and shared with a pompousness that is hard to swallow. I’m assuming I am the mike you are responding to? If so, you can make that argument but it’s one part of my comment. The other is the horrid shooting. If you lift in ways that are not conducive to basketball and put on weight etc that is not conducive to basketball, then you can ruin muscle memory and f up your shot which could be argued is the case. We are a poor shooting team and players that were decent at things like free throw shooting are getting worse. Before anyone cites our field goal percentage, please note that is largely a function of Romeo and Morgan around the basket vs shooting Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

People were ecstatic when we hired Marshall, I challenged his qualifications when it came to basketball and got ripped apart. His history is in football which is 100% different than basketball weight and strength prep. It can lead to injuries, fatigue and broken shots which we seem to have maxed out on. It’s odd to see so many talented players hurt/regressing on their shooting, even uncontested free throws and 3 pointers Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I think the concern is not the losses, but how we look. I still don’t know what the end result is supposed to look like. What does a successful Archie offense look like? Is it smooth, fun to watch, 3s, driving, post ups, transition, half court, idk... I do know that it is looking really slow and stagnant and neither can be a good thing, is that intentional? Outside of Langford and Morgan we don’t have much period. Phinisee and a few others might be great down the road but outside of our big two, we can’t rely on much offensively or defensively. Great post, a pretty comprehensive look at DD and what he is, a walking contradiction and instigator that’s largely directed at Indiana. This is a guy who admittedly says things to get under people’s skin for his own amusement and because IU has such a huge fan base and he seeks ratings, a lot of the stupidity comes our way.
