Game Thread: IUFB vs Rutger | Noon on BTN
Dave from Dayton replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Next home game for Indiana will be played at the Bill. Pets ok. -
Marketing a delayed intangible is a really gut-wrenching job. If the seller cannot use persuasive closing and get a signature immediately does anyone except the buyer really know what will happen later? I found that in the case of a delayed intangible, the entity with the longest track record and success and a larger market share is hard to beat. Personalities can help a lot. Finding out what makes the buyer tick is paramount. And doing that with 18-years old recruits and family would be a challenge. Buyers seem to gravitate to the known entity. Gotta find one's own nitch...and scratch and develop and get back up and do it again...and again. Become the known entity in your market. Pointing to Fino and TJD does seem compelling. Compare that to the successes of others. Good luck Coach Woody and staff. It ain't over until it's over.

Archie walked on water in Dayton. Got teams to overachieve. Then went to IU. Don't believe he got the green light that Woody has. For example...the recruiting staff, the ability to go after recruits no matter where they are. And the freedom to get rid of players that were...ahem...counterproductive to teaming....was limited severely...apparently. Sure he did not produce. But the administration seemed to not support him. One example was the PG he had recruited...and allegedly was told that IU did not want someone that Archie had inked for Dayton. Archie seemed to me to be neutered by the AD. Never got over that. Woody is the right guy at the right time. Maybe. I hope. If we start competing at the highest levels. If we get a PG that is competitive...at the highest levels. Let's see. Come on Boogie. We really think you are special.

Rut grrrr 17 Who's Yours? 24 This game is decided on which offensive team plays well more than one quarter...i Rut grrr got lucky against MSU in the 4th quarter. IU gets lucky and puts together two quarters. One in each half. Wins! Boogie Fland picks IU. Queen goes to MD. And there is peace on Earth in our lifetime. And LEO actually works better than having knowledge of what it takes to be a good and competitive football team.

Game thread: IUFB at UMich - 12:00 on Fox
Dave from Dayton replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Let's play the Blame Game! Pick at least one: 1. Scores less than the opponent; 2. It's the fans' fault; 3. It's Tom Allen's fault; 4. One player is playing as badly as the rest of the team; 5. Obviously the referees make bad calls; 6. Demographics; recruiting; too far to the coast; 7. Money; and the administration; Corso; DiNardo; Wilson; & etc.; Sammy Terry; 8. Turnovers, play calling; the OL; the DL; backs; strategy; too much emphasis on defense; the weather; deflated balls; cheating; the turf; the uniforms; lack of talent; too few 4 and 5*s; lack of discipline; lack of speed; LEO +/-; the cheerleaders; the band; the stadium; soccer; basketball; golf; swimming and diving; cross country and track; drugs; culture; video games; 9. It's the NCAA; the B1G; POTFB; 10. The Little 500 and tailgating; Brown County; Indianoplace; something else that I forgot; 11. Michael Penix Jr.; 12. Football is just too complicated. Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy Because I'm easy come, easy go, little high, little low Any way the wind blows doesn't really matter to me, to me 13. It's Indiana! -

IU gains over 5 yards on the two punts. Maybe think about punting on first downs. -

All-Time IU “If They Hadn’t Been Hurt” Team
Dave from Dayton replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yogi Ferrell may just have been the best PG at Indiana since Isiah 'Zeke' Thomas. Another record setter...so he just may not qualify. However, he got his bell rung at least twice and other injuries...his back and his thumb. I noticed that he was a step slower in his junior and senior years as compared to his freshman and sophomore years. Just didn't quite have the edge that would have made such a difference. Frustrating to fans and to Yogi...no doubt. Don't get this wrong. I thought he was great. Just off enough in performance that it was noticeable. Why? Was it the team? I really thought it was the noggin got hurt repeatedly. It just may well have been his back. Well, and he was short. And the team..and Tom Crean...jeez, it was stacked against Yogi...opponents really did slam him. Big Ten is a grind...each and every game...for Yogi...4 years of taking punishment. Too mas?
