  1. What the hell was The Taco Kid doing on that inbound?
  2. Army is passing better than IU. Cold shooting.
  3. Probably will show Heidi in lieu of IU basketball.
  4. I bet they don't relish playing the second half.
  5. 8 turnovers, bad defense, can't hit...other than that...they doubled IU's score. They must have had a 'pep' talk by Bill Walton.
  6. DD just wants clicks. Hate generates more action than love. Ignore DD. Changing the subject, I am still surprised that IU got Coach Knight and placed him in charge of the Hurrying Hoosiers. Quite a feat that. And a tip of the hat to those that give a nod to RMK's roots, and Indiana basketball roots, too, by scheduling Army. Won't be a highly competitive game. But it is just one game. And it is definitely a salute to all veterans. Here is to the memory of Coach Knight's great coaching and teams.
  7. Swing through China with Buck Clayton on his birthday. Black Music Sunday: Swingin' with the legendary Buck Clayton on his birthday (dailykos.com) Later, Buck Clayton soloed with Count Basie. It's a great story.
  8. If I had seen this yesterday, it would have been one of the highlights of my Saturday. Thanks for posting this. Methinks it's the second coming of Leon Redbone. Keep it up...kind of. You Incredi...Boy!
  9. And the refs...oh...and...
  10. At an all-time high? Where have you been for the last ... well...forever except for very isolated blips. Most losses in a football program in the P5. Ever. Sorry. I had to say that. The $20 million buyout may not actually end up being $20 million when an exit contract is negotiated. Still, it is a huge hurdle and one that stinks from a number of perspectives. And if Tom Allen would get a coaching job after the IU job, then that also would likely reduce the negotiated buyout some more. The AD is in a potentially difficult position. One that he is responsible for, true. One would have to find a very good head coach prospect and explain to the Trustees, the media, trolls and fans why he made that decision. And try to justify the decision to have such a huge buyout in the previous contract. The AD should have thick skin and broad shoulders. I have no doubt that Dolson can handle that heat. Except that the university must be wary of the political (funding) situation. Do we really understand the ultimate reason(s) for Kevin Wilson to be let go? Was it because of the alleged mistreatment of players? Well, most likely that. But could it also be because of the potential negative political (aka funding) ramifications especially the non-athletic side? The real question: Is the Indiana University Administration able and willing to suffer the bruises of bad PR and the potential uprising in the political arena coming from the Indiana State legislature and other funding sources? This is a time of a very controversial issue about public tax monies funding the non-athletic public education system. Public education is fighting for the basic survival of the institutions. I do not see the university asking for more trouble and focus just now. One could argue that they are separate and unrelated funds. Well, they are related. For instance, some public funding helps the athletics. Just one example is the borrowing interest rates of the Athletic Department is backed, in part, by the university. Does the legal staff help athletics, does the medical program help? Does athletics pay a prorated share for those services? Sure. Maybe. Some? Everyone is used to us losing. So that really is not a negative. It is programmed into the public consciousness already. Plus, the risk of it all. Will the new head coach actually win? Right away? After 4 or 7 years? Can Dolson (and the university system as a whole) afford to keep him. Probably. Should he/they? Wait until after IU plays Purdue. Then think about it again. And then wait another year...that is my prediction. The best news for Indiana football recently is that the Big Ten has gone away from that awful Divisional format. But what remains is our tradition of losing, and demographics are against IU recruiting. Some would try to compare us with UK or some such. Yeah, them playing in the SEC compares with IU playing in the Big Ten East. Not having a seasoned QB at the beginning of the season; not having a disciplined team that doesn't get numerous penalties each and every game; and having the defense lag in a competitive opportunity like yesterday...doesn't help the head coach move towards a winning program at all. Really does bite the big one. It would be cheaper to use the NIL to get a couple of (I mean maybe 15) great players at key positions. Of course, that is off IU's athletic budget. Oh yeah, and upgrade the coaching staff? There, I said it. Make it so.
  11. You mean, there's a chance!
  12. I've got it. Some Indiana fans must turn themselves in for stealing signals.
  13. great...we get to see more game. just great...and me with no bourbon. sheeit.
  14. No doubt in my mind, handoff to the back and into the left tackle part of the line.
  15. Sometimes, punting is all we have.
  16. I am reminded why I generally dislike football season.
  17. The game is in the bag! I mean the necessary room for gentlemen.
  18. Refs, you're our only hope.
  19. Once upon an afternoon dreary, while I pondered weak and weary over a pathetic display of forgotten football While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly I had the urge to go for a long walk.
