  3. I'm so excited that I could $#!+. Really curious how IU will throw away the lead this game.
  4. I would blame both of them and the coaches for letting it get out of hand. Apparently, both players threw punches. Sports Illustrated article says: " After Ames appeared to hit Dual in the face, Dual responded by throwing a punch that resulted in his forearm landing to the side of Ames' head. 5. There is no Indiana player on UConn's team. So, there is hope. MSG is like homecourt for UConn. Ugh. McDonald's AA Frosh Castle, most likely is out due to injury. Seems like a strained ligament. Starter averaging 14ppg. Newton can create shots. Who will defend him? Karaban and Spencer may also do some moves...but not like Castle. This was posted on The Boneyard, UConn fan forum. It is an opinion on replacements for Castle. Diarra - Too erratic and makes too many mistakes plus a terrible shooter. Can play hardcore man defense and good vocal leader. Ball - Can shoot but hasn't shot good yet. Right now needs to slow down as he is playing too fast. Can't have bad shots and bad turnovers. Just be solid on D and make open shots. Ross and Stewart - Both have looked lost out there, yes I know their freshman as well as Ball, but they run to the corner and hide on O. Need a few threes from Ross a game off the bench. This might be good enough to beat Indiana & Texas if Donovan (Clingan 7'2"), Cam (Spencer 6'4"), Alex (Karaban 6'8"), and Tristen (Newton 6'5"), come to play but Kansas and NC And UConn's coach is concerned about the bench scoring. link is to UConn roster: 2023-24 Men's Basketball Roster - University of Connecticut Athletics (uconnhuskies.com)
  6. UConn 78 Indiana 75 Not one player on UConn's team is from Indiana. So, there is a decent chance of an IU win.
  7. East Lansing 24 Bloomington 31 TA does the Ickey Shuffle Fans do the one-hand clap
  8. Indiana by 10. w4 minutes to go. A little defense and sharing the ball...
  9. Sparks has been very decent as backup. He does hit his free throws. Just not now.
  10. Get some stops. Share the ball. IU wins...however...
  11. If they do not shoot 3's...we might compete.
  12. Galloway assist to Reneau underneath. Great awareness.
  13. IU controlled the first 12 minutes or so. With 18:50, Lipscomb is countering. Corner kick, IU.0 0
  14. WSU 62 IU 78 1st time ever to change a prediction. Go IU!
  15. Well, that's good. But I'm more R & R & I & I.
  16. My IU gf and I enjoyed 'The Bird' (the Bluebird) oh so very much. Her apartment was on Washington Ave one block from the Bird. Remembering fondly Luther Allison (Chicago electric blues), and...
  17. Rowdy Raider hasn’t always been the gray and white wolf we know today. The Wright State mascot has gone through several iterations since the university started playing varsity basketball in 1970. A 1971 student contest determined that Wright State’s colors would be hunter green and gold and its athletic teams would be called the Raiders. Early renderings of the mascot showed a pirate with a bandana and an eye patch. It wasn’t until 1986 that Rowdy Raider, a Viking with a horned helmet and red beard, emerged as the official mascot (possibly reflecting Cleveland State’s newly adopted mascot, the cartoon character Hägar the Horrible). However, some felt that the mascot shouldn’t represent a specific gender or cultural heritage. A marketing firm was hired to update Rowdy in 1996 and replace the Viking with an animal that could be considered a raider. The following year the Viking Rowdy was retired. In his place stood a brown wolf in a jersey and sneakers. The current version of Rowdy Raider was unveiled in 2007. The new wolf is gray, white, and black, and is described as being “fierce” with claws for hands and feet. In recent years, Rowdy’s talents have gone beyond sporting events to appear at a variety of functions around campus and throughout the community. A social media star, Rowdy has appeared in YouTube videos, Snapchat stories, and photos on Facebook and Instagram. Rowdy even launched a Twitter account—@RowdyWSU—in 2014. 18. Years ago, I was with my FIL playing golf at Old Oakland GC in Indy. Clark Kellog and George McGinnis were playing as a twosome directly behind us. The were definitely oversized for their golf cart. That and they could really launch their drives farther into the woods than anyone in my memory. Good thing too. We were in range. And so were others in different fairways. I remember Big George, Joby Wright, Steve Downing, Jerry Memering...at the old fieldhouse...they sure played bigger than 6'7".
  19. Well, I have no doubt in that number. I do wonder what Payton Sparks' quickness numbers were with his boot. And then without it. And Xavier's versus Yogi's... And those comics on Whose Line Is It Anyway? They are quick.
  20. This band won't make it. Nov. 14, 1964: Rolling Stones flop in Dayton Fewer than 1,000 of the 6,000 seats in the new Hara Arena were filled for the appearance of the Rolling Stones in Dayton. The band had also bombed in Ft. Wayne and Cleveland before coming to Dayton. Lead singer Mick Jagger was still able to get some enthusiasm from those that did attend their shortened concert. The band was only on stage for less than 20 minutes and sang only eight songs, of what the Dayton Daily News reporter called, “their brand of noise.” The reviewer went on to say, “Except for unanimously shunning barbers the group has utter disdain for uniformity, even to the point of working in whatever costume they happened to be wearing when it’s time to go on.” Brian Jones, a founding member of the band, did not make the trip to Dayton, he was ill in a Chicago hospital at the time.
