Game Day! Talk about opportunities. This is the biggest game so far this season. That brick cesspool up northwest is flawed. They can and will lose to just about anybody. Lurch gets cut off at the knees and tied down. Mgbako has an excellent day. All of our guards are hot and efficient. Reneau and Ware both have double doubles. Hope Sparks is healthy. The stinkers are improved from last year. Better guard play and that big lump in the center is a senior. They are good on offense and are rumored to win by 10. So defense is a key. I have IU by 1...of course. Coach Woody owns our little bro...just saying. SSAH is going to be rockin' tonight. Get those lose balls and play like you are at home. I would even place your money on the Hoosiers. POTFB! Make it so.

Cheering for both to lose.

Tough call...the hated team up north lost to the corn dogs because of turnovers. So, the team that handles loose balls best wins. Will Coach Woody deploy the X factor to handle that? Barf & Gag 71 Cream & King Crimson 72 Eddy with X hanging tight? Or which Hoosier player getting focused? I'm wondering...

That's nuts! I really thought that X might get the sack. Oh well. That's how the ball bounces. What did someone say about leadership on the team? I thought that when IU got into conference play that things would be different. Fooled me. At least twice. No...it is actually about 6 or 7 times. I am resigned to enjoy IU basketball when they play in AH. And I'm excluding the time that Woody uses the hockey substitution by platoon. Oh, and when the defense lags. And when they throw the ball away or can't hit. Or...

I enjoyed immensely his play, All American! We need him on the court today. In yesterday form. And a PG. And RMK...who put teams in a position to win.

I'm stealing that. Thanks. Helped to make my day.

It is definitely a great movie. Jack Nicholson is my favorite crazy person. It has some great twists. Great characters. Great story... Nurse Rachet is a hoot. The baseball game is over the top. It is a must see. Do not read any spoilers. It is too good getting surprised on every turn. Enjoy. Jack Nicholson was in Easy Rider. His breakout role. That one is different...but a very good movie. Not for everyone.

Practice free throws? Who me?

When the Hoosiers hit 25% of their free throws, it's not a joke. But in Xavier's defense, he at least was grabbing the balls. There is a flood warning near New Brunswick NJ. There is no sunshine and rainbows there. Indiana, if they play decent defense, will win. Do not get discouraged about the offense. Every team feels that against Rutger. X needs to be on. Well, hell, the whole team does...especially on the road. If fouls and turnovers are under control....IU will prevail. Go IU!

Hoping for a win. This game will be really ugly at times because of Rutger's defense. IU has to make Rutger look ugly too...by playing a great defense. No injuries...please. I'm somewhat perplexed about IU this season. Really not happy about either Auburn or Nebraska games. Could try to explain it away by saying that these players are human. They got outhustled, to say the least. Then all but folded. Should we really blame someone for that? I say we blame the opponents for their hustle and effectiveness. IU just did not have the starch in them those days to stay with the other teams. I can't say why. But IU has been in the NCAAT two years in a row. This season is not done. In my opinion, there are lots of pros and cons to the team and the coaches and their performances. The substitution pattern against OSU last night was not as bad as it was 5 or so games ago. The 2nd string does not show up in mass. And they were not left in the game for an extended period. If I remember correctly, Xavier and Ware came back in fairly quickly. And the adjustments in the 2nd half were amazing. 4 turnovers for the game, hitting free throws, all contributing scoring and defense. Not bad. Not bad at all. Yeah, the team and the coaching staff are flawed. Welcome to reality. Churning head coaches every 3 or 4 years is not a great strategy. Sure, sometimes one must make a decision and make a change. I just don't think that it is justified now. IU just beat a good conference team. That is a weighty fact. If only they could do that consistently and on the road. Just win baby!

I have to tip my toupee to Xavier. He was gassed. Obviously... But every time after placing his hands on his knees indicating he was very tired he went and ran and defended and played to the best of his ability. Seems players just may shoot short if tired near the end of the game. So he missed the shot terribly. He laughed, embarrassed and good naturedly. And Ware, behind him, was laughing and sharing the joke. (Not sure if those things happened just like that...) They were in a good mood. Played better defense in the 2nd half. Protected the ball. Rebounds were not good. Wonder what was up with Ware? Was he not feeling well? Otherwise, really nice 2nd half. 27 points by OSU during that half. Well done.
