They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread
Dave from Dayton replied to Banksyrules's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Somehow, I am not surprised with that opinion from certain posters. I cannot fathom any fan thinking like that. But, hey...I support your being able to do it. -
Over?! Over?! Did we say it's over? "Did we give up after the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? ... Nothing is over until we decide it is!" Is Xavier playing tonight? Yes! Does tOSU suck bigly? Yes! Has OSU lost 7 of 8 and 2 in a row at home? Yes! We're on a mission from Indiana!! Comon!! IU wins over the team that jointly can't dribble except from the side of their mouths. Take it to the bank! Oh...that's tOSU. Take it to the basket and play defense & etc.! Strike them down and cut off their pointed little heads! Go ahead by double digits and step on their throats. 'Bout Damn Time!

Indiana (our guards play well, of course) 70 OSU (don't drop soap in the shower, Congressman JJ is here and THE doesn't care) 69 The belief of the apocalypse in Indiana men's basketball is....coming way too early in the season. Woody says they need to work on it to get us over the hump. Does anyone know what a word salad is? Just asking for the fans. /s

Strongly disagree. I like when people can cut to the chase and give insight relative to IUBB. If someone is thinking different than me, then I want to know why. I want to know if that opinion is correct. I don't dislike someone or not listen to them if they speak out of the side of their mouth. What I do not appreciate is being shrill. Saying thing in biased manners that are trying to get attention. Strongly worded language without the explanation for the concept is just an attempt to incite or excite in order to cause one to act on something. One example is to just evoke hate. The action would be for one to listen or repost or get clicks or sell a product. That is his schtick. He sells controversy and hate. That and the fact that he does not care about other people's feelings, apparently. If he does, he doesn't care as much for it as his own ego or $$$. Bad form, Dan.

See, that is part of it. When at BGSU he over supervised and controlled his players. Berated them in public. And that is not all. In part, because of the above, he could not recruit well against others in the MAC after a while. He had some similarities in lack of empathy during recruiting and coach that Fife had. Sure, one has to have discipline to teach and be a coach. But, my oh my, getting into politics and lacking an understanding that people have different ways of motivation and needs. We need a coaching team and administration that understands how to recruit, win games, train, teach, how to put the team and players in positions to take advantage, fund raise, be flexible in all of that, grow individuals into civic-minded adults, and to not put the university in a bad light doing it...politically or in the media.

Sports banalist says inflammatory controversial B.S. to get clicks, get name out there, sell products. Shocked, not shocked. I have not listened to him much since he was proven to be unsuccessful at Bowling Green State U. in Ohio. Only thing he knew at one time was some Xs and Os. Just a shill shilling. It takes no preparation to be opposed to something. That is Dan D. By the way, sometimes part of what he may have said might have a kernel of correctness. But he surrounds it with soundbites and platitudes and attitude. Heck he would have made a great engineer if he could add or understood physics. Since he is perfect. Now, back to our regular scheduled complaints...

I didn't know that IU had Radiology classes. Do they teach about AM and FM? Boom boxes? What not? Wisconsin had something called a Boom Box Parade. I could see your dad leading this off of campus. Leon Varjian, previously a TA at IU in math, became Student Association President. That is him leading.

Me. But then I probably am taking this question out of context. I do not know about the team members that may have been somewhat disgruntled in the past for not getting prime playing time. But I would never ever point them out on a chat site to be ridiculed. I would rather do that to some of the 'fans' that aren't 'true fans'. /s I remember, way back before my grownup offspring were born... Seemed all IU fans made schedules around IU basketball games. The world seemed to be put on the back shelf during those 2+ hours. If I miss a game now because of something... It happens. However, if all things are even, we do watch if possible. What I liked about the game last night was the team effort, the rebounds, the defense...especially in the first half. Hope that our two starters that went down recover quickly. I lost a bet last night. No flagrant fouls. But why does Xavier take his time getting the ball in to the offense? Why does Woody allow that? Oh....never mind. I know why.
