General Coach Candidate News
Dave from Dayton replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The title of this thread is about The General possibly being a candidate for Basketball head coach...? That is a little misleading. Sadly, RMK passed away within the last year. I do not think that he would toss his hat into this ring. I don't believe that he is that flexible./s Going though my list: Mike Davis; Kelvin Sampson; Dandy Dan D.; Tom Crean; Archie Miller; Mike Woodson... -
I'm not happy about the refs. But, through 50 years, I can't think of a time that I was happy about the refs. I say the single most important thing to change is to upgrade the head coaches. Indiana, for example, needs a have coaches that recruit to a plan. If the plan is to have positionless players then they need to get ballers that can do that. If the plan last night was to use fouls to stop Purdue's good offense, then how did that work out? If the plan was not that, then why the heck did Coach Woody.... uh...(not going to beat a dead horse). Never mind. I'm watching an excellent U of Dayton team. And I'm watching Wright State. It is enjoyable to watch disciplined, well-coached role players. Especially when they are scouted well and then players are put in situations that play to their strengths. Hmmm...you know who I am remembering? Over a long time ago...oh yeah... Wonder if a good coach at Dayton would be an upgrade for Indiana. Has anyone ever thought that? /s

I see what you are saying and feeling... This team is up and down. Predicting which team shows up is a crap shoot. It does mean that they have a chance to be on tonight or any night. It also means that we will be unpleasantly let down when they let down. For me, I have not gone into any game feeling...meh. And yes, I feel sandbagged when Ware gets hacked and there are no calls repeatedly...etc. And the other team defends well...and our guards don't score. IU is not a strong team. But at times they are on fire. Tonight...may it be an on-fire night against our pissant lil bros from that brick manure house and cesspool up north.
-
Game Day! Talk about opportunities. This is the biggest game so far this season. That brick cesspool up northwest is flawed. They can and will lose to just about anybody. Lurch gets cut off at the knees and tied down. Mgbako has an excellent day. All of our guards are hot and efficient. Reneau and Ware both have double doubles. Hope Sparks is healthy. The stinkers are improved from last year. Better guard play and that big lump in the center is a senior. They are good on offense and are rumored to win by 10. So defense is a key. I have IU by 1...of course. Coach Woody owns our little bro...just saying. SSAH is going to be rockin' tonight. Get those lose balls and play like you are at home. I would even place your money on the Hoosiers. POTFB! Make it so.

Cheering for both to lose.

Tough call...the hated team up north lost to the corn dogs because of turnovers. So, the team that handles loose balls best wins. Will Coach Woody deploy the X factor to handle that? Barf & Gag 71 Cream & King Crimson 72 Eddy with X hanging tight? Or which Hoosier player getting focused? I'm wondering...
-
That's nuts! I really thought that X might get the sack. Oh well. That's how the ball bounces. What did someone say about leadership on the team? I thought that when IU got into conference play that things would be different. Fooled me. At least twice. No...it is actually about 6 or 7 times. I am resigned to enjoy IU basketball when they play in AH. And I'm excluding the time that Woody uses the hockey substitution by platoon. Oh, and when the defense lags. And when they throw the ball away or can't hit. Or...

I enjoyed immensely his play, All American! We need him on the court today. In yesterday form. And a PG. And RMK...who put teams in a position to win.

I'm stealing that. Thanks. Helped to make my day.

It is definitely a great movie. Jack Nicholson is my favorite crazy person. It has some great twists. Great characters. Great story... Nurse Rachet is a hoot. The baseball game is over the top. It is a must see. Do not read any spoilers. It is too good getting surprised on every turn. Enjoy. Jack Nicholson was in Easy Rider. His breakout role. That one is different...but a very good movie. Not for everyone.

Practice free throws? Who me?
-
When the Hoosiers hit 25% of their free throws, it's not a joke. But in Xavier's defense, he at least was grabbing the balls. I'm going to cancel my subscription to all these issues. /s When I was young, I went to a boarding school. All I learned was how to get on an airplane. To make a long story short, I became an editor. Got my Covid 19 booster shot yesterday. Did you know that ants never get sick? They have little anty bodies. A penguin walked into a bar. Bartender asks if there's something he needs. Penguin says: "I'm looking for my brother." Bartender asks: "What's he look like?" Hey, don't complain. It's free. If you complain, then I will post more. But, they're not as funny.
