2017 March Madness Tournament Thread
schoosier replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
How bout them *****! Haven't been this excited since back to back baseball championships. -
Excellent thank you very much sir. Those extra wins puts us in the dance but keeps us Crean. A top performing coach stats should be much higher.
-
Creans Achilles heel was close games. I would love to know his overall record in games decided by 3 or less points. Where is our stats guru?
-
I really like Archie and think we're in good hands. Good luck!
-
I think Mack should move way up the list. I'm impressed with the W over a much more talented Arizona team. Sean Miller got toasted.
-
My logic tells me our next coach is still working. So they made it as far as Crean and lots of good ones left. Keep narrowing it down and Donovan becomes increasingly a good possibility.
-
Like ripping a bandaid. I'm feeling nostalgic looking to greener pastures.
-
Good luck Tom.

Yours and the OP with 1 post count has me LMAO. This is great Hoosier drama! We may have awhile to wait but I find this much more enjoyable than the last one 1000 pager.
-
I really like the analytics; please keep bringing them. Bennett would be great for us; that elephant in the room just won't go away though.
-
Every day is one closer to a new coach whom I convinced will do much better than the last decade. I feel as confident if we limited it to just one county in the state of IN and their best boys high school coach. It's going to get much better no doubt.

I didn't know he was first round. Great job, wish we would have seen more this year, and get paid.

First Tom Crean Interview Post-Indiana
schoosier replied to hoosierpap's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
"I don’t think there’s any question that I had earned it (the extension)," Crean said. "You look at the landscape of college basketball, there’s really no question and I was surprised at that. But here’s the thing with all of that: I knew it wasn’t coming and I had some other opportunities (to coach elsewhere), but I just didn’t want to leave. I was so committed to our players. That’s not coach-speak. That’s something you feel in your heart." He earned the extension, knew he wasn't getting it, and had other opportunities he didn't pursue. That pretty much sums up his coaching abilities without even referencing them. -
Fall on the mercy of the court? Are you inferring he was charged with a crime? Gosh, i thought I disliked Crean.
-
Duke had Jayson Williams, Boozer, and maybe Dunleavey. They were much more talented but that Indiana team just didn't want to be denied. Maryland played well and they were loaded also.
-
You should have been around for firemikedavis. That's how I got started and over a decade later we're still trying to find the right coach.
-
That would be my guess also. I would take him in a heart beat.
-
Yep just like we have done letting Knight head bump, kick, make light of rape. Was it alright then cause we were winning or was it a different time? How long ago was Alford's?
-
Well let's compare him to his contemperaries of Pitino, Calipari, Boeheim, Roy or even K. I can go there with all of them. Or let's look at his alma mater in Knight or Sampson. See a pattern? No one is squeaky clean in this game.
-
Sure but it hasn't kept him from coaching UCLA who keeps winning. Would your one mistake be carrying Creans water pale all these years? I say that tongue in cheek of course.
-
Alford wasn't high on my list if I remember since we've all been discussing Creans replacement. At least 6-7 years for me lol. I think I put him in tier 3 with all the other ex Hoosiers. Tier 1 BS or BD and tier 2 A Miller, Marshall & Hoiberg. I'm sure there were others I can't remember, but I believe Alford is a much better coach than we've had.
-
Alford made a mistake and has owned up to it. Just curious of those of us on Btown who has made decisions they wish they could change?
-
Watching whiny @$$ Duke get beat is priceless. Just hope the Gamecocks can hold on.
