  1. I don't really view Donovan as an NBA lifer and could easily see him coming back to college. It wouldn't be easy, but it's possible. He coached at Florida for nearly 20 years, and he even went back after signing a contract with the Magic. Because of that, he wasn't allowed to accept any NBA job for 5 years. Doesn't sound like a guy whose dream is the NBA. I think if the IU job was open, he'd seriously consider it. Stevens, on the other hand, is more than a pipe dream. Barring some major turn of events, he will never coach here or at any college for a long, long time. He reportedly loves having summers off and hated the recruiting element of college. He also wasn't too thrilled about Butler leaving the Horizon League and having to recruit against bigger schools because of all the cheating that goes on in recruiting. I would love Donovan or Bennett. Those need to be our top two targets.
  2. Any reason to believe Donovan is a pipe dream?
  3. Not sure at Iowa would be considered a WTF loss. I think they only play Iowa at home anyway. I think at OSU would be considered WTF, because they beat them by like 30 at home.
  4. It pisses me off that we have to think so long and hard about how we're going to match up with Purdue. Great job by the man in charge.
  5. My enthusiasm for this team nosedived after they blew a 17 point 4th quarter lead and lost at Auburn.
  6. I think Glass not extending Crean after last season says he still wasn't sold and wanted to see sustained success. He knows what happened after the first Big Ten title and wanted to see if Crean could avoid that this time…and he isn't.
  7. Keeping him without extending him is basically firing him without actually firing him. That would surprise me more than anything else.
  8. Lmao…our RPI went UP 3 spots after losing yesterday. #73 right now.
  9. 1) The Big Ten title is nice, but that isn't going to win games next season, or any future season. 2) The team was fading even before the injuries. 3) The buyout is irrelevant and always has been.
  10. If Crean had Waters and Wilkes coming in next year and 2/3 of Blackmon, Bryant and OG were coming back, I think Crean would be safe. If 2/3 of them leave, I think he's done. Glass is smart enough to realize next year will be another wasted year if that happens.
  11. I hate New England with a passion, but I've kind of just made peace with them winning and accepted things for what they are. The Colts had a nice rivalry with them for a few years before bad drafting caught up with us and we blew up what made our team great. They continued to win while we messed around with stupid management and traded first round picks for Trent Richardson. Maybe someday, we'll get back to being in the Super Bowl discussion. I guess we should consider ourselves lucky that we had a HOF of our own for a long time and managed to win a few big games against the best QB/coach ever in this sport. Maybe someday we can get back to that.
  12. Who had it worse: Indians fans last November or Falcons fans now?
  13. Awhile back, I saw a stat that said since 2012, the Pats have played the fewest number of games against teams that finished above .500.
  14. I'm starting to think he's been a troll this whole time. He recently said he wants Crean to coach 20-25 more years and retire at IU.
  15. In case anybody feels like puking, here's a post from Hoosiertilldeath after the PSU game: Coach Crean leads IU to SWEEP of LIONS, DESPITE not having 7 of the TOP NINE scorers from last season available!! WOW!! 55 MINUTES and TRIPLE OVERTIME WIN MINUS NUMEROUS KEY PLAYERS!!!! Top of the world MA!! FANTASTIC-SUPERB-EXCELLENT-SPLENDID-FABULOUS-MAGNIFICENT-STUNNING AND UNBELIEVABLE WIN MINUS THIS YEAR'S IU LEADING SCORER JAMES BLACKMON OVER 17 PPG THIS SEASON AND OG ANUNOBY- OVER 11 PPG AND 5.6 REBOUNDS PER GAME THIS SEASON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even if IU wins not another game this season, IT IS AMAZING WHAT COACH CREAN AND HIS STAFF HAS ACCOMPLISHED ALREADY THIS SEASON WITH THE ROSTER THEY HAVE HAD AVAILABLE!! 15 WINS overall and wins against both Kansas and North Carolina when those two teams were ranked #3 IN THE NATION!! AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME and TOTALLY AWESOME COACHING JOB BY IU'S ENTIRE COACHING STAFF!!! Go Hoosiers!! GOOD JOB Coach Crean!!!! (I've got your back)!!!
  16. I bet one of the first things Crean talked about after the game was how much we missed Blackmon.
  17. We've been easy to gameplan against for 17 years. Time to get a basketball mind back on our sideline.
  18. How does the BPI predictor thing work? It gives Purdue a 70% chance of winning this game. I think they'll win, but that percentage seems awfully high.
  19. I actually think Purdue wins tomorrow. They'd be 3 games out with 8 to play if they lost. That's a pretty big mountain to climb when you don't play either team in front of you again. Plus it feels like Maryland is due for a letdown.
  20. I know it's been discussed, but how realistic would our chances be with Tony Bennett? He makes $2.1 million a year at Virginia, and they just upped his salary not long ago. Crean makes $3.5 million here. If we bumped that up to $4 million and offered to double Bennett's salary, would he take it?
  21. It's probably easy for players to like Crean and say good things about him when they aren't subjected to his 4 hour practices and constant manic energy.
  22. Well…the Colts just got even less interesting, if that was possible.
  23. This guy was once excited about beating Kennesaw State at home after committing 22 turnovers and compared them to an SEC team. I think you underestimate him.
  24. Wow, just looked on ncaa.com and their rankings show us at 84. Why are ESPN's higher?
  25. ESPN says 68: http://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/rpi/_/year/2016/page/1/sort/RPI
