  1. Glass inquired about multiple coaches in the weeks leading up to Bryant's commitment. Bryant committed about a week after Glass announced Crean was staying. The thought process was that since Crean still had 5 seasons left on his contract, a move didn't have to be made just yet, and with the addition of Bryant plus Yogi and Troy staying, the team would contend the following year.
  2. Five years left on contract=ability to stand pat if top choices aren't available. Three years left on contract=decision time. Pretty simple.
  3. Yeah, he's an athletic director who fired our most successful football coach in the last 25 years and fired a soccer coach who won a national championship. He also sought out potential replacements for Crean a couple years ago, but chose to stand pat (something he can't do this year) when the best fits weren't available. It really is comical how people think Glass is too fond of Crean to fire him or even hurt his feelings.
  4. As good as he was last night, he was directly responsible for 2 five-point swings that went against us. The first one was the botched fast-break that resulted in OG's missed dunk. He couldn't decide if he wanted to take it or lob it, and the result was a bad pass that OG was fortunate to even get a hand on for an extremely difficult dunk attempt which he missed. Maryland then hit a 3. The other one was his missed layup. I don't know if he was surprised at how open he actually was, but I have no idea how that ball didn't go in. Maryland responded with another 3. Out of the final media timeout, up by 2, we made a great defensive play on Trimble, and moments later he steps on the sideline. Just some brutal mistakes that can't happen on the road.
  5. Stop. Just stop.
  6. You can tell this is our first real road game. Thanks for this schedule, coach!
  7. Turning it off and heading to bed soon. Garbage.
  8. Anyone on this team not had their shot blocked yet?
  9. Why is this a shooting foul? Was he going to dunk it from 10 feet away?
  10. Stop getting stuffed! Use a shot fake, kick it out, something.
  11. I feel like OG gets blocked every time he gets the ball under the hoop anymore.
  12. LOL of course. Game stopped with 2.2 seconds to play for an official review for a flagrant foul.
  13. The playoffs this year will be awful; this weekend was only the beginning. NFL is just bad football right now. New England is going to walk to the Super Bowl and probably win it to cap off one of the most boring NFL seasons anyone can remember in a long time.
  14. Purdue has 10 turnovers in 15 minutes and somehow they're up by 8. Three offensive fouls on Wisconsin already. Home cooking in Mackey is nuts this year.
  15. College basketball has been "down" for quite some time. One and dones have ruined it. Transfers have ruined it. NBA-style offenses have ruined it. I think changing the shot clock to 30 seconds has actually helped, as games seem a bit faster and scoring seems to have gone up a bit. But the NBA just has way too much influence. Players want to get there even if they have no shot, and NBA teams want these kids about 2-3 years earlier than they should be getting them because NBA people all believe they can find the next Lebron/Kobe/Garnett.
  16. They just need to play faster.
  17. I'm looking for updates that he found his way back to Indy. Seriously, I think this means his mind isn't made up, and the reports published Friday morning were from Pagano's camp.
  18. Irsay was in Houston tonight.
  19. Crowd and Crean need to get into these refs a little more. Home teams in this league never get called for as many touch fouls as we've had today.
  20. I really think Irsay's brain has been so severely addled by painkillers/prescription meds that he's completely incapable of realizing Andrew Luck and a horrible division are the only things that kept this team from the 5 or 6 win season it really deserved. Irsay likes Pagano and Grigson because both of them are yes-men and they don't make him feel inferior. Polian was very good at his job, very intelligent, and also quite arrogant. I'm sure he made Irsay feel like a dope many times. Pagano and Grigson are both in way over their heads in their current positions, and Irsay is fine with it because it allows him to step in and play armchair coach/GM again. I used to be fine with Irsay as an owner…but those days are long over. Along with our days as being one of the better-run organizations in this league. I read that Manning was interested in part-ownership of the team, but Irsay didn't want to give it up, which just makes me despise him even more.
  21. Weren't we recruiting Trevor Thompson in the spring a few years ago? I think we were on his list, and he said he was going to visit every school on his list before deciding, then he went to OSU and committed on the spot.
  22. Gelon I could see, but please not Priller. His senior night speech and the crowd reaction would probably be epic.
  23. We're also 2 years closer to the end of Crean's contract than we were then. That matters.
  24. I haven't checked with that source since before the Nebraska game. I just think our season will end in rather boring fashion, and being forced to extend or fire, Glass will choose the latter.
