Michigan and Illinois partying like it's 1989 these last two days.

The old heads will never grasp this stuff and I'm here for it. Actually heard one complaining the other day that the Minnesota loss was unacceptable and will keep us out of the tournament if we don't get to 20 wins. I am a little curious how Minnesota moves up 12 spots after beating MSU but we only moved up 2 spots after beating Purdue.

Is Purdue finally starting to fall out of favor with the media? They stayed at #12 in both polls this week even after winning by 30 on the road yesterday. Andy Katz actually put us above them in his power rankings this week, and he's been a huge Purdue homer in recent years. https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-men/article/2026-02-02/st-johns-iowa-state-climb-top-10-mens-basketball-power-37-rankings

Will Alabama be ranked next week? Once upon a time, Purdue fans acted like they had the best win in college basketball after winning there.

Going to say this while I still have the chance: the last time Purdue won a basketball game, we had zero national titles in football.

Isn't 14 the only double digit seed Painter has never lost against? Could this be the year? Fingers crossed...

USC is probably our most winnable road game left. They might just be that weird team that's better on the road than at home. Lost at home to Northwestern last week, who was winless in the conference. Beat Rutgers by 3 points today. Won at Wisconsin last weekend, at Minnesota in overtime earlier this month and were about to steal one at Iowa before that brain-dead foul at the end.

Miami of Ohio is a neat story, but there's a reason they're barely top 25. Currently down 10 midway through the first half, at home, to 7-13 Northern Illinois.

Does anyone else get a little nervous watching the highlights because you're afraid it was too good to be true? Like, Sharpe won't actually intercept the pass, or Mendoza will fumble after the initial hit on his run? I'm only able to watch the blocked punt because nobody shows highlights of a punt, so that one obviously went our way.

Let's pretend they not only show up, but actually contribute next season. How much better could we be? Top half of the conference/bubble team? Not going to get people back in Assembly Hall. If we were 4-6 or maybe 3-7 in the conference and the team was fighting hard and growing, I'd support giving her another year. We're 0-10 and going nowhere. I just don't see things getting back to where we want them to be if she sticks around.

I heard a lot of neutral fans say during our football run that they wanted to get behind us, but we seemed like the kind of success story that always ends tragically. Wasn't the case, obviously, but I could easily see that happening to Nebraska. March is unforgiving.

I wondered if that might be him. Ben Humrichous just crashed into him trying to save a loose ball. Humrichous, by the way, graduated high school in 2020.
