Kind of interesting that the rumor was the players are waiting on the assistant coaches but Woodson said his focus is on the players right now and not necessarily assistants.

I can’t speak for them but I know he has a Zoom with Illinois Saturday.... Illinois has been going HARD after him. I’m not optimistic.

Get that sense as well, if Fife was coming I don't know what the delay would be over. I think Lewis is more likely. On another note, have you all seen the rumors about Buckley? Long time assistant under Crean and current assistant at UNLV, he's apparently a candidate for one spot. Wouldn't mind him after how terrible our teams have been shooting wise.

Agreed, can’t say I would be happy for Armaan to see him transfer within the conference to one of our rivals, but at the same time if you don’t want to buy in to what Woodson is selling, you are replaceable. Make no mistake about it, I want Armaan back, him and Stewart could be a really good shooting duo, but there are 1,000+ kids in the portal. If you don’t want to be part of what Woodson is building there will most likely be plenty of other options who do.

We could definitely miss out on guys because of it, but if a kid is turned off by a coach being up front with him do we really want him here?

I get that sense too, his return to Bloomington next year would be... Interesting. We need to be looking into the portal for back-up options at the very least though.

According to Rivals, Franklin has a Zoom call on Saturday with Illinois. The main IU writer said Illinois is putting on the full court press to get him. That being said, he said he felt IU has a better chance of landing him today than he thought they did at the beginning of the week, but this is going to be a recruiting battle. He said Woodson really wants him and is doing what he can to keep him, but Underwood obviously really wants him as well.

It’s the lack of information on him in combination with not seeing him in the photos with Woodson and the team last night. I hope I’m wrong but if he doesn’t want to be here...

For the record, don't know if this has been brought up, but a guy on the IU Rivals site said on Tuesday he heard Roy Williams was retiring Thursday and Hubert Davis will be named the next head coach on Saturday... Part one happened, curious if he'll be correct on both fronts.

We have one assistant right now, Kenya Hunter. So yes, we could bring both Fife and Lewis here and make this an absolutely loaded staff of IU guys. That being said, I wonder if part of the pitch to Fife and Lewis is that they could take over when Woody hangs it up. they're both young enough for that to work at 41/42, but could both bite on that? I don't know.

Maybe there is, there are a ton of options out there. I am pretty damn sure he’s better than our current situation though, your reasons for him being a punk are bizarre.

No one said he’s a shooter, but he’s also a significantly better shooter than his current counterpart on our roster... Thats great if Armaan, Jerome, and Al brought our team average up. Johnson can play on the floor WITH them. Phinisee is the guy he’d replace in our starting 5, and he’s a 26% three point shooter.

Kid shot 78 threes and hit just over 32% of them. Our starting point guard shot 96 threes and hit 26% of them.... We’re comparing him to the team average why? Kid is a point guard, compare him to our point guard.

There’s no doubt about it, getting a tech hurts the team. that being said shooting 20% from three hurts the team and that’s our current starting point guard. I’ll take a rare technical foul over that all day, not even sure why that’s a discussion. if talking trash makes him a punk then how on earth did you ever watch 90’s basketball?

Are we heavily on Braden Smith? I don't think we have even offered him. Not sure how Woody feels about him/if he knows about him.

Definitely hoping, Love isn’t in the transfer portal so we can’t even talk to him... legally.
