  1. If that's an IU thing I am shocked because it's definitely not a thing at most schools. I'm a young guy so I don't know how far back it goes, but I have never heard of anyone taking a class taught by Tom Allen or Archie Miller while I was there. It's genuinely a waste of everyone's time.
  2. For lying about his masters degree after already lying about something previously on his application. That one was a weird situation.
  3. Jason Kidd, Ty Lue, Jerry Stackhouse, Magic Johnson off the top of my head. I guess none of them are qualified though because they didn't take classes from someone who's never coached a day for a major sports league in their lives...
  4. It’s not about any specific candidate, it’s more about how absolute nonsensical it is to think having a bachelors degree makes you more qualified to be a basketball coach than someone who doesn’t. There are plenty of good coaches who’ve been around the game for 30 years and don’t have one.
  5. I’m not sure if this is a thing anymore because I’ve never heard of a coach teaching classes but all of those guys were before my time. That being said, then being basketball coaches qualifies them to teach classes about coaching. I don’t think a college degree does that lol
  6. I have never heard of a head basketball coach teaching classes at a major university. That is definitely not part of the job description.
  7. Very curious to see if it takes off after the game tonight if Woodson coaches.... Or did you mean never left from Bloomington
  8. Woodson is a little unfair to put into that group. He’s had jobs literally bigger than being the IU head coach before. not to say Woodson is my number one option, but comparing him to Fife of Cheaney is silly.
  9. Not that flight tracking has ever led us astray but....
  10. Anyone listen to what Rabby said?
  11. For the record if we hire Cheaney we’re basically trying to capture the Juwan Howard effect in a bottle.... Maybe it works and maybe it doesn’t. I can’t see Dolson taking that risk but who knows, maybe he blew him away in an interview.
  12. Maybe watching the disaster that IU basketball has been has changed his mind
  13. Cheaney could be a great hire..... or an absolute disaster. How do you really know with him?
  14. He’s not there to teach classes
  15. Is that an actual rule? That seems bizarre
  16. In this age, having the strongest meme game is the key to success... Woodson is one of the best in that regard!
  17. Beilein is a great coach but... am I crazy for wanting Woodson instead? He’s 5 years years younger and doesn’t have that “thugs” comment hanging over him... I have MAJOR concerns over Beilein’s ability to recruit given how much hate he got from that and basically got ran out of the NBA. Woodson has coached some of the best players in the NBA and I wonder if he could parlay that experience into getting kids to come.... I don’t know, Beilein is obviously a good hire but his age + recent controversies scare me. Neither are exactly the top of my list.
  18. 1. Woodson 2. Fife 3. Smart 4. Lewis 5. Alford 6. Chaney
  19. So I take it this ALSO means the tweet that implied we had a "homerun" hire is also wrong, since we haven't actually hired anyone?
  20. Swing and a miss by Jim Coyle, I guess?
  21. I very much doubt this individual has sources with how tight lipped Dolson has been but we'll see
  22. Wow this coaching search is a dumpster fire lol
  23. The idea people wouldn’t be excited about Tony Bennett is entirely shocking to me.
