  1. If this were true I feel like it’d be Chris breaking it considering his connection to the party involved
  2. The issue with Boston is Ainge will be involved in 50 trade discussions but try to low ball you on every one of them. is he actually willing to try to make a fair deal? If he is they could acquire Gordon, who’s a solid but not great player. More likely than not he’ll try to steal Gordon and nothing will get done.
  3. So then who are we even pursuing at this point? Mike Woodson? Why hasn’t a former IU guy been hired if that’s who we’re going with?
  4. Is that a second interview, Chris? I know he said he had a call last night?
  5. Defense matters though, Paul George was an incredible defender... Melo was not. That’s why I say it was close. the fact of the matter is nba playoffs are an entirely different beast than NBA regular season. Those Knick teams had two offensive threats, Melo and JR Smith, who was streaky as hell. If those are your top two options, I have no idea what you were expecting to happen. Not to mention Melo kind of disappeared at times in the playoffs.
  6. Home court doesn’t really matter in the NBA. everyone knows Miami was better than those Pacers teams but we still managed to get home court over them. It’s how the NBA works. I can’t see any argument that those Knicks teams were better than Indiana on paper. Their only advantage was Melo, and even then Paul George went toe to toe with him and was arguably better.
  7. And they lost to better teams so I’m not quite sure what the complaint is
  8. The guy who just won the big ten had zero experience with recruiting or experience in coaching college basketball
  9. Honestly at this point I’ve talked myself into Woodson so if our alternatives are assistant coaches right now **** it just let Woodson have it
  10. How dare Mike Woodson not take completely average teams to winning records in the playoffs! Those Knicks teams were stacked! They had Melo and.... uh.... a broken Amare Stoudemire?
  11. Ah, well, I am not going down the Brad Stevens rabbit hole. I'll believe it when I see it.
  12. He's either reading this board or whoever that source is REALLY is trying to tell as many people as he can
  13. I don’t think that’s code but hell what do I know
  14. That’s interesting... and it’s all probably nothing but very interesting lol
  15. Flying from there to Bloomington in the morning?
  16. Anyway, back on topic, Woodson is on the bench for the Knicks tonight... Really curious to see if that flight leaves tonight after the game, probably not but im curious
  17. I just think it's dumb, its obviously not something that matters. I think the vast majority of those degrees don't prepare you in any way to be a coach, so why do you require them? Anyway let's just drop it, it's not something super important to me and it's not on topic
  18. Yes, I am aware each have their own standard. It being the standard does not exclude it from being a dumb standard.
  19. I mean sure, no one is denying it matters. I'm just saying its dumb.
  20. Again WHY is the qualification to coach in the NBA different than coaching in college? It's the exact same job.
  21. I've already removed him from my list but I am still not grasping why coaching in the NBA requires different standards and qualifications than coaching in college?
  22. Fair enough, remove him from the list then I guess. (even though that degree has very little to do with coaching so kind of proving my point of the requirement for a bachelors is absolutely idiotic) Most people are going to earn their bachelors anyway, but telling a player who's been around great coaches for 20 years and didn't get a degree he can't coach because he didn't get a degree in fashion merchandising (or whatever) is the dumbest most arbitrary metric I've ever seen.
  23. Why is the qualification to coach a college basketball team different to coach an NBA team? For the record, Jerry Stackhouse is a college head coach right now.... At Vanderbilt of all schools.
  24. Yeah he lied about that and offered to resign but they kept him on staff. THEN it was revealed he lied about getting a masters degree from a school that didn't exist. He was fired after that.
