Colts/Bears/NFL Game Thread
WayneFleekHoosier replied to Dalton26's topic in National Football League
Colts have made some super embarrassing moves lately. Can a 44 year old still get it done? I do like him better than Riley though, which should be third string at best. -
I feel it though. We lost to a bottom 3 team in the B1G and if we go 0-2 with a home loss to another bottom 3 team. Then guess what, we are likely a bottom 3 team too. The eye test isn't pretty in these last 2 either which doesn't help matters. I'm not too worried about this one though, being a home game.

Same. Good for Schwarbs though. Incredible number. -

My outside perspective is yes, I think he is. He’s being scouting as scoring option 1a or 1b and they are crowding him. He’s not getting too many open looks. So He’s shooting from deep just to shoot. That’s why I think Conerway, Wilk, Dorn, DeVries, Bailey lineup adds an extra shooter and hopefully can free him up a bit. DDV gotta lot of things to figure out quickly. Agreed. However, They are the right coaching hire away from being Ohio State in football again. But Basketball is likely on a 5-10 year reign of dominance. Time will tell, but being outspent by Michigan in basketball really bothers me, particularly with the Dusty May angle. Hoping the football success will sometime soon propel basketball success. Yeah. The talking heads said we were top 10 in Woodson’s last year. CBS eye on basketball survey and talks to a lot of sources reiterated the same. The NIL budgets jumped wildly for many schools. Many said we paid over 5 and were top 10 in Woodson last year. Reports say we paid about 10 this season and that to me is very believable. Apparently Wilkerson was near 2 to 2.5 million. Crazy. Kentucky reported is around 22 and that’s believable too. BYU is getting 7 million to Dybantsa. And 2 plus to the guard. UNC way up there. Duke, Kansas, UConn, Michigan, Illinois, and on and on. We aren’t top 10. We might be in the neighborhood of 10-20, but other surprising schools are spending big too. Curious to see what we do after missing all the “top” freshman targets and then landing some middle ground guys. Curious to see what budget DDV gets offfered to play with. I hope the administration realizes they need to generate some excitement in the program. The hire didn’t do it. The assembled roster didn’t do it and now the results aren’t doing it. I guess we will find out what they plan on doing by this summer to see the response to what this season will be.

Hoping to just sneak into the tournament this year despite honestly thinking we won’t. Then hopefully we can put together a high ceiling roster and see if DeVries Got it. I like his passion and grit but you can only do so much with the pieces he has assembled. Nervous for what might become a long term build. -
(2027) WR Monshun Sales

C1G won’t put up with much drama. If he’s about the right things I would love it happen. If not he’ll end up at a great, winning program. -

No, not the top team. But building with the intention and chance of being a top team. Subtle difference.

General WBB Thread

Exactly right on all accounts. -
Yeah. I wasn’t only going about the centers. Speed and athleticism. Counting on a very little enright to be the PG. Rebounding. Just general roster build. Lack of proven commodities. It was all so obvious. I know people love Enright and he does the little stuff. But he’s a ceiling limiter in a big way. Both defensively and offensively despite adding hustle plays. I don’t dislike him. I respect him but I’d rather him not be the PG of the team I want to be a top in the country. Conerway has been good but he showed yesterday where he stacks up to top end guards and athleticism and that was a problem too, including ball handling. Just frustrating as it was all so predictable. A better PG, a Legit defending/rebounding/shotblocking C and we could have had a nice team. But we have what he have. Our best lineup might be Conerway, Wilkerson, Decvries, Bailey, Alexis but we don’t have depth to even find out if that’s the case. Dorns shooting was promising. If I’m coach I’m trying Conerway, Wilkerson, Dorn, DeVries, Bailey/Alexis. Ive been down on this team all offfseason and nothing is helping change my mind so far.
