  1. Dunno if anyone caught it, but ESPN mentioned we’re hoping to have Phin back by next weekend
  2. It’s a tiger. Rawr [emoji197]
  3. Not to the same level, but I said the same about JBJ. Sure, they’ll make you rip your hair out sometimes but they’ll also save your @$$.
  4. We’re beating them at their own game. Taking it to the hoop, forcing TOs, and wearing them down.
  5. This defense man! YEAH BABY *Austin Powers voice*
  6. I really didn’t want to do it...
  7. The cynic in me feels that was a bit vindictive...
  8. Damn Joe. You’re just not a very kind person. No tipping because “they don’t do anything”, etc. Come on man... I handled take out orders when I was a kid and a portion of all my tips went to the busers and the cooks, but sure go ahead and assume you know everything.
  9. An important lesson to learn as an adult is that your words carry weight and cause impact whether or not you're willing or able to understand that. Running around a family environment using hate speech and calling people derogatory slurs is not appropriate nor acceptable. Representing your university and team by wearing your university's apparel while saying those things? You've now disrespected those individuals with your words and actions while acting superior to those around you. Is this a heinous crime? No. Is it some immature kids acting like assholes and feeling entitled to act that way? Yes. Those attitudes and behaviors are some of the worst character traits one can possess, and a coach or parent would cause greater harm not ensuring a lesson was learned. 1-2 game suspension is absolutely in-line. Granted, I'm someone who would suspend for 10+ games for a DUI, but 3 games for marijuana. The difference for me is the disrespect for others and potential to cause harm to others versus just breaking the rules.
  10. Definitely agree that comparatively in a low number of games the redshirt freshman was putting up... similar... numbers as Ramsey. Ultimately probably one of the main drivers for naming him starter.
  11. That’s kind of trash. Feels like that shouldn’t be a thing when you spend so much time crafting a non-con schedule to prepare for the real important games.
  12. Depends who they hire. New coaches could generate some immediate hype.
  13. If Tom Crean can convince Thomas Bryant and Cody Zeller to stay another year, I think Archie can convince TJD. Pretty good cases to point to and say, "look at what they did - they stayed and they've been financially successful and had early impact in the NBA instead of wasting away in the G League." You could debate Bryant's benefit, but end results will overshadow the process.
  14. Archie had Jay Z's cousin and Giannis' brother? That would have been fun with them showing up to games.
  15. I'm wondering how much that will matter. If I'm an NBA exec I see a high potential player performing well. I'd want to get him into my organizations immediately with a late first round pick.
  16. Yes, but I do think our roster will have an impact as we can offer him the chance to be the missing piece on a team poised to make a run at a title with him, TJD, and a high-performing Smith.
  17. The calm before the storm... https://www.forbes.com/sites/adamzagoria/2019/09/23/after-kansas-receives-ncaa-notice-of-allegations-louisville-other-schools-expected-to-be-next/ Don't forget the scandal was for the strippers not the most recent one.
  18. Isn't he Jay Z's cousin/nephew or something?
  19. Every time I see Washington ranked a chuckle. I don’t trust anything coming out of the PAC-12 except Arizona.
  20. With MSU down, we could realistically move into the perennial fourth place position in the East. We're already there this year and threatened PSU. If we do that again next year, we've struck gold. Start winning a game a year between PSU or UM? That's the next step. Right now, beating OSU would take a miracle (one that Purdue experienced). They're the new Bama of late.
  21. Fair point. If we beat Tennessee that would be much more impressive to the general population as well.
  22. I don't think Alford is arguing for a half-baked extension. I do think he's merely pointing out that we shouldn't expect 8 wins next year given the schedule, which is fair. Why he's arguing it in a thread about extending him is throwing everyone, including me, off a bit. I think the right move is a 3 year extension, but in all honesty, I really wouldn't be upset if he got 6 years. I think it's 60/40 that we make a bowl next year as well given the schedule.
  23. Not going to dig through the archives, but I’m almost certain you said the exact same thing about Romeo. I think it’s pretty simple. If we have a good year and make the tournament and return Smith and TJD, then we’re solidly in the picture. If we have a rough year, then we’re out.
  24. This is what I want. We’re in no way ready to face Pruitt and Tennessee. UK? Hell yeah we can beat those pussycats.
  25. But it’s not. Everyone is completely aware of the fact that we only beat teams with a losing record AND YET... that is still exceeding expectations for one of the worst FBS programs in history. 8 wins at Indiana means you’re the man and on track to be the greatest coach we’ve ever had, without exaggeration. Is that a testament to the strength and performance of this team? Well, sort of, but it says far more about how awful this program has always been. If Tom Allen continues recruiting like he is for 5 more years, I’m confident he will be considered the most successful coach in Indiana football history. Just go look at where this program has been. Even the seemingly good times were short lived. You don’t give a 6 year extension unless you have to (aka FSU actually offered). You give him 3 more years and a large raise. You don’t do that because this year was a weak schedule. You do that because it just makes sense to see if he can create continuous success before chaining yourself to him. If CTA makes another bowl next year, I’d strongly consider another extension and raise. Next year’s schedule is definitely harder.
