Fire or ‘Way to Go!’ Tom Allen?
Walking Boot of Doom replied to Hoosierfan2017's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Crazier things have happened, and this Purdue team is underperforming way to far from the norm. As much trash as I've talked, it's not like Jeff Brohm is a bad coach. I'm just not ruling it out, but I agree it's highly unlikely. -

I’ll be plenty bummed if we don’t beat Purdue, especially since we should. I also just recognize that there’s a very real chance they’ll be playing for win 6 at home against us. Would be amazing if that is the case and we shut them down! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Fire or ‘Way to Go!’ Tom Allen?

Three straight will give many reason to get the pitchforks back out, but I don’t think there is any take away from the season other than positives. A coach who is growing into the role, a much improved offense and defense, two excellent QBs, a stud RB, and a core of freshman and sophomores who are bought in and rewarded with a bowl. I should clarify it was made more to demonstrate the high bar of a freshman coming in and being B1G basketball ready. Vonleh didn’t miss a beat. Zeller came in ready. Bryant was not too far behind. I’ll be thrilled if TJD is in that Bryant to Zeller range of ready for college. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Penix and Ramsey, a perspective

I don’t know if you meant to quote Brass, but I was trying to argue for what you essentially just said. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
We beat a 4-3 Nebraska. A team that had a winning record. If you meant we haven’t beat a team that still has a winning record today, then you’re correct. Either way, I’m still taking Indiana up against a decent number of those teams in the back part of the rankings. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Penix and Ramsey, a perspective
Walking Boot of Doom replied to RaceToTheTop's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Aren’t you the one arguing we haven’t beat anyone? I think you’re greatly overestimating the opportunities for him to transfer into a surefire starter role. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Penix and Ramsey, a perspective

Give an example as to where you think he’d be a starter. Your post is complete incendiary trash without any substance. There’s zero disrespect in there - just reality. He lost the starter job at Indiana. So if he wanted to transfer to be a starter, where are you suggesting he would go? Evidence would indicate that he may not be able to start anywhere better than a low-tier P5 school. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Trust me, don’t bother. This obnoxious and condescending tone he takes with anyone who disagrees with him is standard operating procedure. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Penix and Ramsey, a perspective

Why would Ramsey transfer? Where is he going to go be a starter if he isn’t the starter at Indiana? Doesn’t seem like a guy who will enjoy losing nor does he seem destined for the NFL. I bet he’s quite happy with the situation at Indiana. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Welcome to the 2019-2020 IUBB Season
Walking Boot of Doom replied to Walking Boot of Doom's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Personally, I'm very excited to see how this team carries the momentum from the back half of last season into this one. Last year, I believe we saw Archie and Co. start to find their identity and start to really work within Archie's system. Top things I'm looking for: - Are Al and Armaan legitimate backup PG options to Phinisee? This will be one of the most critical factors for success this year, in my opinion. - Is Devonte going to be a star and the catalyst for this team's success? Every good tournament team needs the guy who's going to get the bucket no matter what in crunch time. - How good is TJD going to perform in the B1G as a freshman? I think he's going to surprise some people, but it's overly optimistic to expect Noah Vonleh level production. - I want to see that lockdown defense of Archie's past teams. We have the right personnel with some time in the system. Need to see some significant results. -
Penix and Ramsey, a perspective
Walking Boot of Doom replied to RaceToTheTop's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
I'm the last guy to be holding up an argument for "the eye test", but this is just simple fact. There are passes that Penix can make and Ramsey cannot. There really isn't anything (besides staying healthy at this point) Ramsey can do that Penix cannot do (and in many cases do better). -

Figured it was time to start a 2019-2020 season thread with the home opener tomorrow. To get this thread started off right, here’s some great news from our friend Jeff! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
I’m not saying Indiana is a world beater, but I have a real hard time making the argument that Navy, SDSU, or any of those other non-P5 teams would fare much better against OSU without their starting QB. Hard for me to say that Indiana should be ranked based on SOS at this point, but if we beat or keep it within a score of either PSU or UM we should certainly be in the conversation. Penix and Ramsey, a perspective
Walking Boot of Doom replied to RaceToTheTop's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Literally no one is hating on Ramsey, you’re just the only one unable to admit that Penix is better despite proving himself time and time again. You say moving goalposts? Before the season when I told you Penix was better, you said let’s see him play. He did great. Then you said, let’s see him against real competition. He did great against MSU and the rest of the B1G teams he’s faced. Now, you’re inventing some narrative that everyone is disrespecting Ramsey. They aren’t. You are hating on Penix. He “borrows” the starting gig as you say? No, he beat out the incumbent starter because, if he stays healthy, he is the QB that can take IUFB to the next level. You are literally one of the last people in Hoosier fandom who cannot or will not admit the truth and see what is so evident to everyone. Again, no one is hating on Ramsey. We absolutely love Ramsey, especially when he’s able to be the QB2 and we aren’t hoping he can carry us against OSU, PSU, and UM. We all just recognize our chances of beating the big three are better with a healthy Penix. Done. That’s it. You refuse to understand this very tame and fair fact of IUFB for some wild and unknown reason that has made you the sole flag bearer of the “Give Me Ramsey or Give Me Death” movement. I hardly remember the last time we had an actual QB2 (sorry Zander...) Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
The thing is, I don’t see people arguing results. Indiana is bowling regardless of the seriously disastrous constant injuries. It’s also a fact that Penix is the better QB. And certainly no one is upset Ramsey is our QB2. He’s been very steady. A good defense in NW certainly challenged him and he was as effective as he was against Nebraska and such, but still good.
