Not sure why you’re making this a thing... You know as much or as little as I do. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

I put it in quotes to imply I have no clue, but they got an official and were in his final three so that’s pretty serious. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Except Langford was “seriously” considering Vanderbilt, a Nike school, and Kansas, arguably a more desirable Adidas school. I wonder what went in to ensuring it wasn’t Vanderbilt, and if there was anything needed to secure the Indiana commitment. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Makes more sense. Would be wishful thinking to assumed that was the end of it, in my opinion. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Re: Langford “Todd tried to match, but “they said they weren’t greedy people.”” What was Todd matching? Hmm... From day one I said I wanted nothing to do with Langford based solely on the schools recruiting him and likelihood of him going to UofL. Would be a shame we Indiana somehow ended up taking heat for this... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

2021 General Recruiting Thread
Walking Boot of Doom replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Thanks for doing this! Minor request - consider sorting on position so we could easily see where we might be creating depth or pressure for a commitment? I'm assuming you're doing this in Excel. If not, no worries and still appreciate it! -

Kinda cool but don't really care either way. They aren't embarrassing in anyway, which is all that matters. See MSU's new uniforms for reference.... woof. -

It works the other way as well. Just because you remember something, doesn't mean it did happen. Like I said, go look at the data if you want to make an actual point. I suspect mdn82 is on to something with the losing streak. Would be interesting to see the data. -

And some may be only remembering the bad starts. Like I said, human memory is garbage. Someone would need to go actually look at the data. The article shared was about one game and included only a subjective comment on poor starts. -
Season Predictions 2019-2020
Walking Boot of Doom replied to Stromboli's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Without someone actually looking at the data to see how frequently we fell behind by X number of points in the first Y minutes, this argument is pointless. I remember frequent frustration that'd we'd fall behind quickly, but human memory is severely impacted by many factors. I am very curious how frequently we fell behind early by a significant margin... -
Season Predictions 2019-2020
Walking Boot of Doom replied to Stromboli's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Essentially your expectations were that we go from an F (Crean's final year) to an A almost immediately. Doesn't work that way. First year was another F. Last year was a D+/C-. This year, C/C+ has us making the tournament. B is that we at least play a few games. A is getting us into the Elite Eight and beyond. A lot of the improvement this program needed was on the recruiting trail. There's real strong progress there - probably even A level work already. That will ultimately be a key driver of progress on the court. -
2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves
Walking Boot of Doom replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Last year I said I thought we would struggle because of uncertainty in the post and lack of a trusted floor general. This year, I think we're looking really quite solid in the post. I'm still not certain about our guard play - a lot hinges on a freshman making strong strides forward as a sophomore and a senior finally realizing his potential. This over simplifies things, but I'm choosing to only focus on roster makeup as an indicator. -
Ed Schilling Leaving, Mike Roberts Arriving

Can FK provided concrete examples of Holtman and Mack “leaving no stone unturned” and where Archie did not do so? This is all just justification of a dislike for the hire. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

These are the kind of analyses that make me rip out my hair. He’s just not hopped up on yellow drink like Crean. He’s calm and collected. I don’t see any actually signals that he’s not taking this job seriously. I’ve met him and had conversation with him - he’s just a calm and serious individual. Can you elaborate? Other than the assistant coaching search, he's stuck to his recruiting strategy. We seem to be plenty active on the recruiting trail. It seems like you're faulting him for not panicking. Schilling left during an important recruiting time, and now we're in a recruiting quiet period. Seems like the logical thing to do would be to focus on recruiting and then shift focus to the assistant coach opening. -

The coach receives the verbal offer from Archie. Said coach goes and recruits. Contract is signed after dead period making it “official”. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
