  1. So why were his victories and final fours at UMass and Memphis vacated?
  2. That's great. Regardless of whether he's been caught, the last two programs he was at were destroyed by the NCAA for infractions while he was the head coach. The head coach is accountable. He's a cheater. End of discussion.
  3. Shake is the biggest miss on that list for me, but he wasn't going anywhere too far from home.
  4. No one here wants to be Kentucky. Nobody wants John Calipari.
  5. Wasn't Hartman in that 275 range?
  6. Why not start OG over Z? Our depth is at the forward position, let's go way big! Hartman and OG can each play out on the perimeter.
  7. This was a hypothetical discussion. I know he hasn't.
  8. I think Michigan State is going to run the table. We have to win two games to get at least a share of the title. Won't be surprised if we go Illinois (L), Iowa (W), and Maryland (W), because college basketball.
  9. Thanks for taking this one over, I'm tapping out. Logic need not apply...
  10. Coach K missed his first nine tournaments, but you want to get rid of Crean for two Sweet Sixteens in eight years...   Confused why Coach K missing his first nine tournaments is proof of support for Drew.
  11. They are a very good defensive team (AdjD #1), but so was Purdue (AdjD #7). I don't think their offense (AdjO #69) is anything to write home about, and is ranked right around our defense (AdjD #77). If you look at our tempo (AdjT #145) versus theirs (AdjT #279), I think we'd tire out their defense. That double on the post against Purdue should be how we play any strong defensive team. Give them hell on both ends of the floor. Granted, we really need a healthy RoJo for that.
  12. Why? Please explain. Provide reason and content so this kind of comment can drive discussion.
  13. It's a single elimination tournament... Literally anything can happen. So he's had two solid chances at making a Final Four and he's now 1 for 2. I need a bigger sample size. Come on...   Not saying that 2013 finish wasn't a complete failure, but using that to negate a previous accomplishment is ridiculous.
  14. Crean has a Final Four and two Sweet Sixteens. No one is getting hyped about that, but that's still better than all but 26 other active coaches in college basketball. Also, please for the love of all that is good in this world try to say he just got lucky that he had DWade. Discrediting Final Fours is just silly.
  15. Stevens proved himself with runs to the Natty game. Drew hasn't done a thing in the tourney.    If he were to make a splash in the tournament this year, he'd certainly gain a lot of credibility.
  16. I understand your point, but I think Crean has us in a position to remain relevant and competitive while taking our time to shop for a coach that has had success already.
  17. We should know that we're getting the guy we want before we fire Crean. Plain and simple. Option C is not an option.
  18. Yes, but I think Brass and Bitter are on a different thought process than you. I'm with you; fire Crean for Brad Stevens. If he's available, take the shot. Those two seem to just want to fire Crean, and take a gamble on this seasons hot new thing. Regardless of who is "available", I don't see a coach in college basketball who I'd want to bring in at Indiana (outside of Izzo and Coach K, but that's not even in the universe of reality).
  19. The goal is to fire someone who has three Sweet Sixteens and two B1G Titles in five years for an unproven MVC coach on the off chance that they're the next Coach K? Even though the odds of that being true are incredibly, incredibly low, and the coach has done nothing to prove that the odds aren't relevant? We are not going to agree.
  20. What has he done lately? He sort of bought himself more time with the 2011-2013 seasons. Can buy himself more time with similar results this year. I don't know who you're so eager to move on to, but jumping ship as it's starting to right itself certainly isn't the answer.   Think about this, if Crean wins the B1G Title and makes it to a Sweet Sixteen, which I think is fair to expect based on the team and this season thus far, he'll have three Sweet Sixteens and two B1G Titles in five seasons. Why keep tacking on the first three years when the last five in this scenario should be considered at least on par with what a strong program should be doing. The past two seasons were horrendous, as many have pointed out, and are not acceptable, but a strong finish to this season creates a real convincing five year resume for Crean at Indiana. Coaches can change and improve, and maybe Crean is doing just that.   Once again though, if Brad Stevens or Billy Donovan were available, throw everything overboard and dive in after them.
  21. Look, point fingers if it helps you, but people with big ideas and no concrete plan for how we will achieve them are the reason we've had three consecutive mediocre hires since Bob Knight was fired.   The people in charge of hiring were impatient, and let the impatience of the fans dictate when decisions needed to be made instead of waiting for the right hire.
  22. Idk man, we could really improve our seeding/chances of succeeding in the NCAA Tournament with a strong finish to the season. Let's just hope he's healthy...   We should be able to win at Illinois without him, Iowa should probably end up a loss, but I think we'll need him for Maryland.
  23. You're scared to live in the present, man! What have you done for me lately? If Crean continues on the current trajectory of the season, wins the B1G Title, does decent in both tournaments, that's showing more promise to me than any small time coach.   I think Crean's career at Indiana is like one of Elon Musks SpaceX rockets - he's about to take off into space, or blow up into a million tiny pieces.
  24. Name a coach we could hire at the end of the season showing more promise than Crean currently is
  25. Your logic is irrational and bred from impatience. Give me a logical argument for a realistic option, and then maybe you'll have a point worth debating.
