JBJ? It's a lot easier to find direct and indirect evidence of people supporting Crean and promoting the idea that he's a good man. You have back channel rumors and your own assumptions. Believe what you want. Crean can be a good man and a bad coach. Not mutually exclusive. Plus, if Crean's an a$$hole, that sort of goes against your entire argument that Glass loves him and won't fire him. Would make it pretty easy to fire him if he were like Kevin Wilson. I'd suspect it had less to due with his character and more his aggressive style of coaching (ridiculous practices and expectations). End of the day, Indiana needed someone to clean up a huge mess after Sampson, and someone who wouldn't embarrass the program with cheating and poor character. Crean did that. He messed up how he handled the issues with The Movement (Breaking news: college kids drink underage and smoke pot and do a ton of dumb things), but I'll stand by the opinion that his mishandling of those issues was out of love for his players (hence why everyone thought the punishments were weak). Everyone needs to remind themselves as they rip Crean that he is a good man who has done a lot for the program. He's taken us as far as we can go, and some may say it took too long, but no one (of character and quality) wanted to take on the project of rebuilding a blue blood with a rabid fanbase except Crean. I had hope for him. He always gave reason to question his stability, but the outright B1G titles and Sweet Sixteens always gave reason to hold tight. Meh... we've had some of the country's top offenses under Crean, statistically. Also, we're usually a top 3PT team. The problem with Crean is that everything goes from fine to disaster, and the basics that are needed to maintain a solid floor aren't there. Soaring highs and crashing lows.
