Guys, end of the day, regardless of when Crean leaves, he'll have done an incredible service to the program, solidified a fanbase on the edge and sick of dirty players and coaches, and set up the next coach to take IU back to where the fans want it. This is a fair argument. Word was last time this discussion came up was that Stevens wouldn't even consider the job if Crean was still there, out of respect. Have you noticed the trend in college basketball? Over 700 transfer a year between about 352(?) D-I teams. Rough average of two a year. Crean is not a unique case at all. I don't agree with the shotgun recruiting approach, but I think it is much less to blame than the overall mentality that has "marred" college basketball as a whole. Argument I'm seeing a lot: "Fred Glass clearly doesn't know what he's doing regarding the basketball team, because he hasn't fired Crean." That is an opinion that I cannot present a solid argument against in the context of the basketball program. Following point from same individuals: "Let's take a shot at someone! Anyone is better than Crean at point!" This however... everyone who has made the first argument realizes that Fred Glass will also be the man making the decision on this diamond in the rough homerun hire, right?
