  2. Posters: Glass won't get rid of Crean and we're doomed forever and that's a fact Also posters: Fred glass must be fired now then or I'll burn all of my gear and Assembly Hall to the ground! Also also posters: I don't get why the national media thinks we're crazy Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  3. Honestly feel like there's a better chance of Billy D leaving OKC than Sean Miller leaving Zona Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  4. Donovan was probably too optimistic and Alford is probably too pessimistic. Usually both ends of the spectrum are wrong :) Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  5. Yeah what the hell. How does a mizzou beat writer have more sense regarding Crean than our own local ones... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  6. Yeah I'm aware of what IU is known for. Few coaches have had the nationally perceived success Crean has had, and subsequently been fired. It's important to not alienate the coaches you want to hire before you even get in the door. I don't think this is your typical coaching change, which is why it's in everyone's best interest for this to seem like an amiable transition. A messy breakup just doesn't look good, no matter what. As usual, I doubt we'll agree on this. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  7. Did he? That's interesting. Agree Allen was a risky hire, but we'll see how it plays out. I like the move. On Crean, as long as there is no extension, he is not the future. And all signs point to his departure, not extension. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  8. Adidas teams better ROI in basketball, Nike ABSURD ROI in football. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  9. Yeah I agree if we were winning championships we'd be more relevant outside the actual fanbase. I just don't think we're actually that far off from our ceiling considering how much programs like Duke and UK bring in. You definitely right that it could be higher. 10. Love the f you attitude. That'll go really well in meetings with the next potential coach when we tell him he'll have all the support he needs to succeed after firing a coach who won the conference title the year previously, his second in five years, in addition to three trips to the Sweet Sixteen. Seriously? A soft landing for Crean is important to Glass' reputation amongst coaches, who are a notoriously protective group. A soft landing for Crean IS what's best for Indiana. 11. Certainly. It'll be interesting to see final revenue from this season, but the money was still flowing two years ago when we were all calling for CTC's head. I haven't looked at attendance numbers for this season, but I wouldn't expect to see any significant decrease. Maybe a little one, but I bet we're still top 15 in attendance. Fans gotta realize that they're their own worst enemies here. Our loyalty is permanent and never ending, meaning the cash will always be flowing. I still think Crean is done here, and it was Glass telling him it's time to go. Hopefully Glass can land the right guy. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  12. This is completely fair. I also don't think our expectation should be that Glass can just go out there and pull an NBA coach back to college basketball because "it's Indiana", as much as we all want to believe that. Doesn't mean he can't, just probably shouldn't be the expected result. And honestly, Glass has no track record to support that he could pull it off. I also don't think he's done anything to prove he can't though. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  13. Booster support of Crean? That makes sense. But there has been no financial dip, so where has that lack of support manifested itself? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  14. If Crean is extended, I'll agree that Glass is not aligned with necessary expectations for the basketball program. If CTC, is back without an extension, I'd see that as a sign that Glass is holding out for the right hire and it wasn't there this year. I don't see Glass rushing this. It's truly baffling to me that people actually believe Glass doesn't know how important the basketball team and making the right hire is to the long-term stability of his job, which I'm sure he values very, very highly. 15. That's just incorrect. We sellout games consistently and justa received the largest single donation in program history. Our lackluster results are not actually materially impacting our revenue. Also, firings and departures are business as usual activities. We just made back to back bowl games, hired a promising but unproven coach, and brought in a handful of extremely talented assistant coaches with strong background at SEC programs. We'll see how CTA pans out, but our football team has been on a steady climb, and appears ready to continue on that trajectory. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  16. You've stated you believe he's incompetent. Definitely difficult to support that given the improvement in football (typically the highest revenue collegiate sport) and the basketball program being one of the most valuable and highest revenue generating programs in the country (article has been posted before, too lazy to find). Combine that with facility improvements, and improvements of other teams, and I don't see room for a strong opposition to Glass. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  17. Also, who is gunning for the AD position at IU and paying Fkfootball by the post to run the smear campaign on Glass here at BTB? Fk, if you're sourced, great. But if not, why do you keep posting the same thing that contradicts sourced individuals if you're purely speculating? Not that forum credibility has any importance in real life, but you're taking a pretty hard stance if you don't have concrete reasons to say Crean is staying. 18. These insiders have nothing but their word granting them credibility on these forums. If they were merely "speculating", they'd certainly keep their opinions to themselves. Radio/newspaper schmucks (Doyel) are paid to put out their opinions and bring in viewers. Insiders are rewarded when the make the correct call early, media is rewarded when they get the most clicks. Who would you put more faith in? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  19. Dude your theories are crazier than any coaching hire rumor that's been posted. You and recker gotta be the same guy. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  25. Feel like it'd be pretty easy to convince a bunch of IU guys to come be assistants for a premier coach like Donovan, without needing to break the bank. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
