  1. I believe statistically the Fball team (116) has a higher ranked Defense, than the (148) basketball team I know there are about 3x as many CBB D-1 teams as there are CFB but we have the whole season yet.
  2. http://collegebasketball.nbcsports.com/2015/12/03/breaking-down-indianas-historically-bad-defense-and-why-their-seasons-at-a-crossroads/?utm_network=twitter&utm_post=4679843&utm_source=TW%20%40NBCSports&utm_tags%20=srm%5Bsport%20%E2%80%93%20ncaab%2Cbrand%20%E2%80%93%20collegebasketballtalk%5D     Guess this belongs here?
  3. I agree. I think Stevens is the only hire that would please the hardcore Bobby Knight fans.
  4. I would be fine with 4.0 to 4.5 with some incentives. He will be making more money than he currently does and also will be getting his wife and kids back home to Indiana. My guess is these numbers would get it done.   As soon as he makes a Final Four then give him the extension and raise that Glass is so good at doing. Not sure how old Brad is but I give him 5-6 mil a year for as many years as he wants. He has gone to the National Championship 1/3 years he has coached in CBB. I would be very happy with 25-30 years of results like that.
  5. Pretty good MHS team just blew out Jimmy Crews boys in STL. Only loss is to a pretty good IL St. Team that made a game @ UK tighter than anyone would  have believed. With all this said. We HAVE to win this game right?   IU - 94 MHS - 93
  6. I agree with all this. I think this is why I think Glass was quoted last year as saying the $12 mil was not an issue. He knows that it will never be paid. I really do wish the best for TC and I would imagine he would not be unemployed very long. So that is a positive for IU. I am in the camp that would prefer it happens sooner than later so the smoke can clear by April for the Golden Boy to come home. They also have a pretty good replacement and friend of Danny Ainge in place with Kevin McHale now. Dare I say that some of the pieces are falling into place?
  7. I don't think the buyout is an issue at all. If Glass was saying last year that the $12 million wasn't an issue then I don't see how $7.5 would be. Also if you wait until the end of the season to fire him we would still be on the hook for full buyout. Can't go into July with a lame duck coach recruiting kids that probably won't come to play for him.   Very good contract on Crean's part, but another reason Glass made a huge mistake. Any drop in buyout should come in March or April of the contract not July.
  8. 51 pts at half.
  9. I usually go to one non-conference home game and one conference home game every year. I got tix to the crossroad classic but will not be attending any home games. That will be my form of speaking up. If they get multiple home games with half empty seats that will speak volumes.
  10. It's all semantics. We can say this player is better than that player, but you also have to compare the competition. Is this years B10 better or worse than the B10 competition the 12-13 team or overall schedule for that matter?   If all these factors are fairly even and we get a #1 seed in tournament I would like our odds of going further than the S16.   I also know that Michigan St. Maryland Vandy and Duke (possibly Kansas) are really good teams this year. So a 4 loss (reg season record correct me if I'm wrong in 13') and a #1 ranking could be out of the question.   Also the dreaded tournament draw. God forbid we draw a Syracuse team or someone like Vandy, Purdue or UK that can run multiple bigs at us. not saying we can't win a one game scenario just saying I would rather play a Witchita St or any 15 or 16 seed.
  11. I didn't read every single post on here so sorry if someone has already mentioned this, but $700k for the top 5-10 McD's AA wouldn't be all they make. It is nothing for Nike or Adidas to give the top 20-30 NBA draft picks a $500k - $1M contract right after the draft. I would assume the top players in this league would be no different.
  12. So Thomas already knows more about our history than Max and RoJo. Good start.
  13. Pat Forde retweeted Cecil Hurt‏@CecilHurt·2 hrs2 hours ago Alabama AD Bill Battle to meet with Gregg Marshall in Wichita today. via @sharethis
  14. Congrats Barr Reeve. That's one in the books for Southern Indiana let's make it two Reitz!!!
  15. You realize Chuck would probably jump at the chance to go back home to NY.
  16. If this is true Glass needs to man up and take control.
  17. I am going Max to San Diego St and Stan in a surprise to VCU. He would be good in their full court press.
  18. N.D. Kendrick‏@NDkendrick Tom Crean and Tod Kowalczyk head coaches in the gym for Reitz/Richmond. Crean for Nate Hansen. Kowalczyk for Jaelan Sanford.   ND, is starting to lose some credibility in my book. I know Nate's dad and he is having some major issues passing his ACT. He is going to end up signing with Olney Central or Vincennes I would say. Unless Crean is recruiting him for 2018, this is not going to happen.
  19. Anybody know if there is any truth to Saban being a part of the search committee?   It wouldn't surprise me if they would give them the honors, but it would kind of surprise me if he would care enough to do it? I have a High School buddy that ran Track at Alabama and he says that the Track athletes are not allowed to use the Football facilities. So I wouldn't imagine why Saban would want a high profile BBall coach that might want to borrow a treadmill every once in a while in town.
  20. If season ended today Celts would be in. Let's Go Pacers!!!
  21. Crazy move by the IHSAA.   I will be rooting for Evansville Reitz.   Evansville has a little brother mentality when it comes to State wide exposure. They feel like people do not respect them near as much as Indianapolis, Ft Wayne or even Bloomington area teams.   It should be a great game. Reitz has shown lately that they are beatable, and I haven't seen much of Richmond, but apparently they can flat out shoot the ball!!!
  22. https://highschoolslam.com/mens/3pt   Everyone please get on here and vote for an Indiana kid to make it to the American Family Insurance Nationally televised Slam Dunk & 3 Point contest on CBS April 5th @ 3:30 EST   The committee has chosen 5 players to automatically be in, and the 6th and final spot is determined by a fan vote.   Jaelan Sanford from Evansville Reitz is a finalist against Will Osborn from Pallyup, WA.   Please signup and vote. You can vote once a day for the next 6 and half days. Let's get behind this Indiana kid and see what he can do.
  23. Yes we do Thomas, yes we do!!!
  24. Evansville Reitz wins Evansville Sectional 70-61   Reitz has not shot the ball well starting with the Southport game. They will play New Albany in Seymour Sectional Saturday at Noon.
  25. Coaching and Recruiting you are probably splitting hairs. Stevens is the Indiana native and more likely to stay here 30 years, while hopefully hanging 5 more banners. Would definitely not mind having either one though.
