What would be on your IU Basketball Bucket List?
Uwe Robb replied to IndyHutch's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Not sure if that would be more enjoyable than us beating them by 1 pt and the whole game hinged on a questionable foul call. I think their message boards would explode, and there would undoubtedly be an abundance of domestic abuse calls and single wide trailers lit on fire. *Just let the record show I would take a National Championship anyway IU decided to win it* -
I was at that UE game last night. Their defense is very solid. UE has a pretty solid team this year. 4 seniors and a 3 year starter Junior. They held them to 9 field goals with a little under 4 min to go in game. UE got some garbage buckets late but most of game they were locked down.

1. See IU's non-conference schedule include a lot more local schools. We could have a top 25 SOS every year by scheduling (UK, Louisville, Butler, Notre Dame, Xavier, Cincinnati, Dayton, Marquettte and for personal reasons Evansville & Western Kentucky. 2. Would loved to have seen Ron Felling get a Head Coaching job in B1G after he and Bobby had their issue. Would have made for a great rivalry and Ron was a great coach in his own right. 3. Would like to have seen how things played out if Scott May didn't break his arm. 4. I would also like to see IU win it's 6th National Championship soon very soon! -

Crean's most successful year was the 2012-2013 season. I don't think many can argue that. With that said that team went 24-3 with wins over the #1 & #4 teams in the nation. Then proceeded to finish the season 3-3 with a Sweet 16 loss as a #1 seed. The Crean haters could argue that team showed the exact same characteristics as most of his teams. Be it a result of a tough B1G season or bad matchups or him over working them I cannot say. But the record does speak for itself. His teams have historically peaked in Jan & early Feb. Let's just keep our fingers crossed it does not happen again this year.

Is this Hornsby kid on LSU related to Kyle? If I remember correctly Kyle was from Louisiana.

Indiana @ Wisconsin game thread on ESPN
Uwe Robb replied to MartintheMopMan's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
If I'm Tom Crean and I see Troy dribbling the ball straight at two defenders on a fast break I am calling a TO before he gets the chance to turn the ball over or take a horrible shot. -
Will be interesting to see how warmly he is welcomed next year.

Also a very prejudice statement for me to make since I have no clue how smart they guy is, but my guess is he helps boost our APR.

Whole heartedly agree with that OU/KU statement. I remember I think Shulman? saying the loser of that game would drop and I thought to myself Why? It took 3 OT's and the home team won. Keeping them 1/2 which is what I think happened at the time was absolutely the right thing to do. Back in my gambling days I knew exactly what home court was worth as far as point spread. I believe it is was around 4.5 at the NCAA level? I think schools like IU/Kansas/Duke would be a little higher, but in general I think that was the number.
-
Not lots of people giving Crean props which I am fine with, but the Crean apologists can scan back to the night we lost to Duke and realize that there isn't near as much talk as harsh as that either. I think this thread is pretty fair.

It has always been a pet peeve of mine when they rank a team higher than a team that just got done beating them. I could understand if it was a team that got hot and hit a record amount of 3's or someone had a star player foul out, but that was a good game and teams have been fairly similar all year long. Michigan State wins head to head and still ranked ranked lower.

Seeds will be big for the 1's and 2's but I could see a lot of upsets in this years tourney.

I followed Albers on twitter because it told me he was a suggested contact. That lasted all of about 3 days. Couldn't tell you why I stopped following him, but it didn't take long to figure out he was not worth the read.

Great point you brought up. We hardly see any teams anymore with this much experience. I have watched them play several times this year and I would not be surprised if they made a run like Wisky (another super experienced team) did last year. Tourney is wide open this year and seeding will be huge. At this rate they will have a very good seed and probably a fairly easy path to Elite 8 anyways.

UK is a different breed. I would guess most of their tickets are going to the general public. Unforunately I lived in KY for the better half of a decade and I knew several people that didn't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of, but they sure did come up with several thousands of dollars every year to purchase sesaon ticket for the Cats. Lots of Wal-Mart UK fans in the state. Although I can't say much because I am a Wal-Mart IU fan.

Even with vacated FF's he still has 3 - Elite Eights at schools that shouldn't be in the same conversation with Indiana basketball. Also vacated seasons were ultimately vacated for academics. Has nothing to do with Cal's coaching. He still coached those teams to a Final Four.

https://mobile.twitter.com/rickbozich/status/687739728846798848 Yeah pretty much done with him if this is true. Definition of a hypocrite. -
I got section 10 row 12 for $78 each. If The General shows those tix would go for $780 each.

With thes two defenses I could see everybody that sees playing time hitting their season average.
