  1. Cool - reread some comments above mine and some were suggesting that. Can understand your comment now.
  2. Never said anything about other teams, I said other things in life.
  3. As you get older there are a lot of things that compete for "fandom" and as your favorite teams move to consistently poor teams they slide back on the priority scale. For some, that looks like fair weather "fandom" but for me there are priorities to life. You never completely lose that tether to your favorite teams but each year they drop on the priority scale the thinner the tether gets.
  4. Sounds like the new offensive coaches came because they really like Tom Allen. Watson had similar comments about the friendship that he has developed in 1 year with him.
  5. Well that makes us feel better.
  6. I guess my primary point on Hartman is this, if he is getting in Blackman's ear about playing better D, or telling Bryant to go down and fight in the post, or telling Newkirk not to shoot unless wide open under the bucket - will they respect him as leader and listen?
  7. I agree with you. I think a team can have a leader from any position but with Creans teams, it seems you generally need one of the best players to be that leader. Crean seems to give minutes, green lights and favoritism to certain players. If one of those is not a natural leader we have problems. I would argue that Yogi was a favored player all 4 years but only really became a leader his senior year. You can try to lead all you want but if you play with little effort on D guys see through it. Last year Yogis D was much much better and that gave emphasis to his words.
  8. Since it will come up later as an excuse. Is Colin Hartman a leader? Sure we miss his play but do you think of him as a leader and thus that missing piece? I don't see him that way. He has his moments and is not opposed to leading but when someone later says when he went out we lost our leader I won't buy it.
  9. No way we lose tomorrow at home to Groce's Illinois team. Especially after losing two other home BT games. Double especially after three straight losses. No way. Right?
  10. Do we know he loves the NBA game?
  11. So now we have IU maybe waiting on Brad and the Colts maybe waiting on Peyton. Seemed a good idea initially but hard to believe two of my teams running with the same strategy at the same time. Time will tell I guess but for now I will root for IU and Holtman, I mean Butler.
  12. Classy tweet from Jay Wright.
  13. Hutch thought Davis should stay and was not at fault either. May have been that way with Sampson too.
  14. Read this article. Loved how Holtman was mad at his team after a blowout. He commented on how his team did not understand winning requires understanding teams have to have a small margin of error. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaab/2016/12/03/chris-holtman-not-pleased-with-no-18-butler-after-easy-win/94913710/
  15. No doubt he has more to add to the resume. I did like how he responded earlier in the year after blowing out a team. Read this article. http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaab/2016/12/03/chris-holtman-not-pleased-with-no-18-butler-after-easy-win/94913710/
  16. Think Nova only had about 7. Two teams playing great D and yet we don't have a ton of TOs.
  17. Holtman adding to his resume. Down goes Villanova I think Glass should send him a congratulations note.
  18. Butler has 2-3 guys that can both go and get their own shot and play D. We have no one who can create their own shot this year
  19. Really? I thought we were projected as one of the top three in the conference
  20. It is hard to find the next coach k but most of the people in section EE feel it is not so hard to find the next Crean. If Brad says not get the next best candidate. If they turn out to be Crean you have not lost anything. If they turn out to be better great. If worse try again. Sticking with Crean will increase apathy and drive fans away.
  21. What if BS never comes? Sure it is hard to find the next coach K but how hard is it to find the next Tom Crean? IF replacing Crean is not a big hurdle, then at some point if BS does not come Glass will either roll the dice on a replacement or stay the course. Rolling the dice shows you at least care about national championships whereas staying the course could Lead to apathy.
  22. Good to know. Any chance campus police might be there to issue tickets.
  23. Is the new one on the West side busy on game days? Not nearly as nostalgic but planning to stop by that one before the game.
  24. They have you covered well. If you stay the night plan a visit to Village Deli for breakfast.
  25. I think this shows just how hard it is for Crean to convince this fan base that he is the guy. It was the same with Davis near the end. The fan base is a powder keg of emotions, wanting a consistent Big winner but wins over teams like UNC and Kansas are not enough to keep us from quickly turning negative when we have the losses we have had. If the season spirals down like it did for Noah's year there will be a lot of negative noise from the home crowd.
