IU vs. Rutgers official game thread
8bucks replied to FortWayneHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I just watched the game and thought we played very well. We were all over the passing lanes. A ton of blocks and steals. I kept wondering how we were playing so well yet not up more then they showed the 3 pt percentages. Take that on the road and things get interesting. -
This Knock em down fella has had some interesting tweets all week. No reason to believe him/her but he was one of the first to say gruden and one of the first to warn that things got too quiet on Friday. Like I said - no real reason to believe but as soon as Gruden thing went south and many were saying we stay with Pagano Knock em down said he would be let go this week. We shall see

Stat stuffing. Not worth the risk and it sends the wrong message to the players. Play hard and win and get your stats then. I know of another coach who does this and it drives me crazy
-
Kent Sterling made the claim that both Indiana and Maryland were very young after that game. We don't start a freshman (JBj, RoJo, Josh, TB and OG/JM). We have three veteran guards with three years experience. Two of those were 4 and a 5 star which means they came in with a lot of experience and have played a lot over those three years Then of our top 7 we mix 3 Sophs and 3 freshman. So we might barely be youngish but not very young. Am I crazy and missing things?

Wasn't he big on having seniors too. Any team that won a game and had a few seniors he would publish their results. Even if it was MSU beating Grand Canyon U.
-
They were over the top, no doubt. I remember having several PMs with them trying to help them with something. Can't remember what it was now but came away feeling as if it was someone my grandparents age who barely used a computer.
-
You don't think that was really think that was Joani did you? I always thought it was an old fella
-
Yeah Cujo is not there now but he has the athleticism and demeanor to do it. Blackman, limited hops and speed. Johnson does not have the demeanor
-
Haven't really had one in Crean era other than Yogi. Troy and Vic and the weave drive but not sure that fits. Cujo may be the closest candidate on this years team.

Ok you said he said no because he did not want to coach anymore. He could have talked all week and decided that. As for the rest of the story as Brad suggests, I have no idea if he has anything others don't but he and has been talking about how Irsay and Gruden were talking earlier in the week. JMV was one of the only others talking about this at the time. I guess since he was out in front on them talking it will be interesting to see if any of that holds true. No idea of the other stuff has merit. Both Brad and JMV are saying both gm and coach will be back now next year - no more looking which seems hard to believe
-
JMV has been saying on his radio show all week that Gruden was talking with Irsay. It was not a simple thanks but no thanks by Gruden as was suggested.
-
To be fair, who are you getting info from. JMV, who has been able to get pretty good colts info over the years is pretty much in agreement with Brad Wells.

Butler was down 8 or so at halftime and came back strong in the second half. Down the stretch Butler hit I think 10 straight free throws but Xavier hit 6 or 8 straight themselves. Have never seen a finish like that. X down 1 would foul Butler who would make 2 to put them up 3 then Butler would foul X and not let them take a three. Both teams perfect from the line down the stretch - that was cool to see.
-
Go big or go home. Part of me is upset because why keep Grigs if that means losing this deal but another part is glad Irsay is at least not happy about the last two years either.
-
He is probably not in my A list but if we can get a Bills donuts as well then I am interested.
-
I missed your info. Are you hearing the same?
-
I have always enjoyed his stuff and believe he is inside somehow but I can never tell if he is proCrean or not. The early stuff from him that I remembered came post Cody/Vic and outlined some culture issues and seemed to place blame on Crean. Then a couple years later we are winning and he seems back on board with Crean. I can relate, but have always wondered if I was misunderstanding some of his posts since I could not get a consistent read on him.
-
I wonder who is applying the pressure. At one point Janitor says Crean is in deep with the right people then a few days (and another loss) later alums are applying pressure now. So does Creans support level sustain him vs this pressure or has his support already begun to turn.
-
Did the ball start rolling before? Thought Janitor alluded to some activity before TB committed which seemed to quiet things down.
-
Can we play 20'questions?

That is not terrible if we then don't just stand there and let them throw it in to Melo. We just stood. No D and slow to even foul. -

Love JBj coming to get that ball. Then we all knew he was shooting and making that three On the other end he got engaged in D and waived off someone trying to cover for him in the switch. Play like you care JBj and you will cruise
