B10 Basketball Recruiting Thread
HoosierAloha replied to hoosierpap's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Well they'll need someone on their roster. Is Painter self imposing recruiting restrictions so he doesn't have to work as much? Didn't they only land one or two recruits for this season? Edit: maybe he's saving those scholarships for Crean to use next year? -
Hahahaha, yes

(2017) PF Clifton Moore Jr. to IU
HoosierAloha replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I thought of that exact play when typing that reply above. He had some drives to the paint vs. puke at Assembly Hall too. I'm not saying CWat never drive it. I think we all remember him as a shooter first and in the post second and then some dribble drive. Troy was a driver first and a shooter second. I don't think Moore will be in the post with his back to the basket that much, especially his freshman year. I think he'll be shooting and driving it more than posting with his back to the basket. -

I've been going off quotes from him and his strengths. You alluded to the competition level not being great and I would imagine that it works there but not at the B1G level. I would love to see us operate in the high low this season and more in the future. (Pun intended) I won't be surprised if he posts some against smaller fours and takes big fours out to the arc. I'm not sold on him being the "big" answer but I think he's a nice piece that can contribute to a winning program. -

I think he'll be a different kind of stretch four though. CWat had some games, as an upperclassman, where he punished teams in the paint. CWat was an excellent shooter though. Moore will probably be a shooter but more of a driver at the four and less of a back to the basket. I'm imaging a hybrid of Troy and CWat as a stretch four. -

I'm all in favor of letting Lago do his thing. He might lose some games but he has the ability to bring the team back as well. How about being in Natee and run the option until the defense is left with walk-ons? -

There was that screen to Redding that was 99 high and outside. -

Win? I would say keep it respectable on the road against O$U and pull the upset vs. Neb and we have something. -

I remember him missing some RBs coming out of the backfield too or missing on the WE screens. It happens Suds was a better QB but Lagow has only played 4 games with 1 huge win! -

I did it every game. A friend and o thought we were awesome by putting vodka in double baggies but they leaked before we made it in. Decided to chug it along with the pitcher of sangria we carried across campus. The best is small Gatorade bottles full of your favorite liquor. I wore long pants with long socks, it's a perfect place to carry your liquor. Once in I mixed it with some Sprite and sipped on it throughout the first half to keep my buzz going. Usually after getting a turkey leg at half I chugged the rest to be in a pretty numb state for the terrible second half. Good times ya'll!! -

I believe in the article with Z3 getting a Pacers camp invite, he said RoJo went at everyone on practice last season. If that can be focused I'll be happy. JBJ seems like he's a CWat kind of leader. TB appears to be the vocal leader and enforcer. We have some good pieces. -
Wasn't sure how likely Tommy, Davis, and McSwain are to injury. Just though Davis and McSwain were nicked up.

If we land a Wilkes and Waters or a big this is about what I'd like to see from recruiting on a consistent basis. (1) stud (Wilkes) - possible one and done talent regardless of position (1-2) solid (Smith, Waters or big) - immediate rotation guys who that will be around 3+ years (1-2) potentials (Durham, Moore) - potential to contribute big as an upperclassman I guess Moore could be moved up into the solid category by some accounts. -

Wow, not sure if it's just Crean speak of not but pap has said something close to the same. Looking forward to it. If we get a CWat type player I would be more than happy. -

I like the pickup. I'm interested to see how it turns out. Welcome to Hoosier Nation Clifton! Now, if the other part of "We want Moore, Wilkes" chant from yesterday pays off... -

That would be impressive if the crowd got to the goal post. I know in 2007 security surrounded them and we couldn't get to them. (I had grand plans of taking that thing down to Kirkwood!) I believe they can unlock them and drop them relatively quickly too. -
Injury prone is having multiple injuries or just an injury?

It would have been a great play if it was executed properly but why not just take the points? I did like how we used Natee in a lot of other spots though. I'm not sure how many MSU defenders left the game after trying to tackle him. -

I believe that throw to Paige was severely under thrown in response to the earlier throw to Paige that was overthrown. He lost the game last week to Wake and won the game against MSU. He has the biggest win for IUFB in 10 years in his fourth game with the team. I'll choose not to pile on and hope it clicks got him soon. -

改善 constant improvement, constant upgrade. Every year or every other year should have IUWB in the upper tier of the B1G which would be tourney appearances and more exposure for the program. Didn't we just land a solid PG in the '17 class too? That could help a lot in getting better players. The program is definitely headed in the right direction. -

The biggest concern for me is Wilson screaming at Lagow "What's the call, what's the call?!" during that timeout in the second half. That indicates Lagow is either not picking up the call from the sideline or not understanding the call. He had a few bad throws through three quarters. I was upset with the overthrow of Paige on the wheel route but that was a heck of a play by the MSU DB. CKW made several calls that baffled me. On the opening drive he decided not to go for it on 4th and short. Oakes missed a few kicks but he should have had the opportunity to kick the short one down on the goal line. We have a defense that can stop people sometimes. We need to get points when we can, not have our 270 pound RB throwing a pass to our TE on a roll out. That was bizarre. Glad IU got the win and hopefully this gets students excited about football. Student tickets are cheap and it's actually a great time at the games. Learn to sneak in some alcohol and keep the buzz going throughout the game! IU is halfway to a bowl game just 1/3 of the way into the season with some very winnable games coming up. Let's get it! -

A senior Buss and an upgraded roster that she can carry on after her freshman year.
