I was impressed with Davis' jumper. I watched him for a bit in the warmups and he made every three. I worry about his stamina though. If everyone is healthy we should be able to go 5 deep at guard (JN, JBJ, RoJo, CuJo, and Green) and 5 deep on the wing and post (Hartman, OG, JMo, Davis, and TB). I could see McSwain getting minutes and McRoberts getting run in a Burton type role.

This is a must win if we're going planning to bowl again. The offense has to get going.

I'm guessing you're right. I don't like the 3 guard lineup and I could see it costing us a game or two early. I hope when Hartman returns we go back to a more traditional lineup.

Going off HH only, I would have Newkirk running the team. I still like RoJo but not as much a pure point. Newkirk looks to make the play or push the ball ahead while also taking and making the open shot. RoJo turned the ball over a few times in the scrimmage. I'm not saying Newkirk replaces Yogi but he'll fill the void for a few years.

After seeing HH in person I'd like to add Newkirk to my starting lineup. PG - Newkirk SG - Blackmon Jr. SF - Annunoby PF - Morgan C - Bryant Guards in rotation: Johnson, Jones, Green Wings: McSwain, McRoberts (Burton role) Bigs: Davis That's our best starting 5 but we will probably go with a three guard starting lineup.

I can't see Davis starting without any other bigs on the roster.

Interesting how he said "we." Recruiting is all about relationships. I feel pretty good we'll see more Boo Williams related recruits in the future. But the main focus here is Troy making an NBA roster, achieving a goal of his. Hopefully this is just the beginning for Troy and he sticks in the NBA for a long time. Congrats Troy!

I would like to see a strong effort on the offensive side of the ball. Hopefully Lagow and the offense get in a flow early and maintain it.

Get better soon Theo. I remember his recruitment and was hoping we would land him. He had great athleticism and thought he would benefit from the development at IU.

IU has a preseason top 20 SG in JBJ, SF in OG, and C in Bryant. If we use those three as constants, meaning they'll produce at a top 20 position rank all season, what are the keys for IU to achieve its goals this season. The goals I have in mind at as follows: - 11-2 in noncon play - B1G regular season title - B1G tourney semi-final - Get past Sweet 16 1) This team has to get and stay healthy. It has been well documented numerous players are still recovering from offseason surgery or injuries. I think a healthy Colin Hartman could provide a boost midway through B1G play. This might be the deepest team in the Crean era with two legit contributors at each spot. However, this can be quickly neutralized with injuries. 2) PG play has to be solid to good. Newkirk grabbing the starting PG spot could be huge. He's the only true point on the team with several other CGs filling in. Limiting TOs and pushing pace while defending at an elite level could push this team over the top. 3) Role players playing their roles. The team started to click last season when the role players started defending and hitting their open looks. This will need to happen again, mainly the frosh giving good minutes in backup roles. 4) Defending at a high level. This team might not have the explosive scoring that last years team had with Yogi and Troy. The calling card could be locking down on defense. Newkirk, RoJo, OG, JMo, DD, and TB could all be plus defenders. Green and CuJo have also been noted for their defense. We will no longer have to hide multiple weak defenders. 5) Crean continuing his development. I thought Crean did better last season using timeouts to stop runs (@UM comes to mind), substitutions, and using the bench as a motivator (Troy being taken out for long stretches). Can Crean coach a top 20 offense and defense to put IU in the contention for multiple championships in the same season. I feel the ceiling for this team is really high. I don't see many teams with the guard depth IU has to go along with versatile wings and bigs. I'm stoked for Hoosier Hysteria tomorrow!

He'll bounce back. Yogi is what he is at this point. I do think he's good enough to make a roster as a second or third point guard.

Garland could probably start from day 1 but Green will have something to say about it. CuJo, Green, Garland, and Romeo would be a heck of a backcourt.

Hartman already sounds like a coach. I wouldn't be shocked to see him on the sidelines one day.

Prayers for Yogi, Doc, and the family. That's never easy and I can't imagine trying to make an NBA while losing a grandparent.

Hopefully we are getting the injuries out of the way early this season. Is there anyone that is not limited in practice?

I guess some of that will depend on who is ready to contribute. I can't see both CuJo and Green being able to give a lot of minutes early. McSwain and Davis will play a part of that too. If neither are ready we'll be limited in the front court.

Does anyone see JMo starting by the B1G season..? I know Crean likes having multiple ball handlers on the court at one time and JMo would do just that. Could we see JMo in more of a Troy type stretch 4 wing role this season?

Not sure pu would have to pay him a lot of money as his LSU contract would pay the difference. I don't see Miles in West Laffy though.

Unless a decent team picks him up. I was really hoping for a lifetime contract though.

Wilson has proven he can have a great offense. Allen is proving he can provide a legit D. I say we're close to having one of those breakout years.
