  1. The eternal optimist.     The reality.
  2. Here guys... iuad@indiana.edu
  3. No, nothing to indicate IU is going to recruit him. Sorry about that, I was just throwing out a name/possibility.
  4. Jeff Borzello @jeffborzello Spire Institute guard Marcus Ottey had his second impressive game here. 38 points. Hit some 3s today too. Unsigned senior. #NPS   Brian Flinn @F150Bflinn Brewster wins 94-77, Marcus Ottey may be the real winner though. Going to see recruitment take off #NPS   Elias Sbiet @Elias_NPH I would be shocked if Marcus Ottey doesn't pick up at least 2 more offers after this performance #NPS
  5. I think the point is that it's sorta an unknown. I'm buying. Senior led PG vs. Freshmen led PG
  6. Jeff Rabjohns @JeffRabjohns Trendon Watford (@Trendon_2) had 32 points, 12 rebounds and the game-winning point last night. He's a freshman.
  7. Yeah, I'll bet on that. All these guys are great but so if Yogi.

  11. Sorry Crimson hahaha... you're right at least 7'0, maybe 7'3 or so
  12. Yeah, if troy gets injured he stays. Otherwise, there are some scouts slobbering over him. He's a shoe in to leave thats why I considered it. JBJ, idk. He wants to go but mama values education (big time) so unless it's worth it he won't go, imo.
  13. He is not 7 foot and I doubt he is that heavy. Who told you that?
  14. I don't get the NC State thing but will try to see what it's about unless someone knows. I expect some other big programs to pop up if they have an opening late and be real contenders but definitely think IU makes it deep into this. Rawle seems like he'll be one of the last guys to commit
  15. Today IU received their 3rd commitment for the class of 2016 in De'ron Davis. Also on board, Grant Gelon and Curtis Jones.     Leaving   Yogi F. Max B. Nick Z. Troy W. OPEN___   5 spots (6 if JBJ goes)   2-3 openings...     Current Targets:   SG Rawle Alkins- Alkins, in my estimation is the cream of the crop and 3rd best prospect left uncommitted in the entire class. UK and NC State look to be the stiffest competition. I don't really know what the NC State buzz is about other than he recently relocated to North Carolina but I wouldn't expect location to really be a factor in this. Rawle has played HS in Florida, New York, and now North Carolina. One thing to watch with UK is who else they sign. UK got a commit from De'Aaron Fox today, who is friends with Malik Monk and could persuade him to join him. That would seemingly eliminate UK from Rawle's list. Monk is the top SG in the class. With Rawle waiting until spring, I'd expect the staff to keep up the heat, but no doubt they'll need a few dominoes to fall their way for Rawle to end up in Bloomington.   PF Thon Maker- Maker seems to be fading. Sure, IU offered his younger brother which seems to have played a role but one thing IU doesn't have that ASU and ND have is a history with Ed Smith, Maker's guardian. Ed Smith seems to be in control in this one, but Maker is definitely a good kid by all accounts.   SG Bruce Brown- Brown is one of the best defenders in the class and would bring a real level of toughness to the class. Personally, I believe IU is in the lead. His decision to wait until spring may not be a finalized thing, but it does seem he is leaning that way. Xavier, Umass and Miami are in this one. I guess Purdue is a long shot but Brown wouldn't make travel plans and eventually ended up rescheduling to this week after Painter went out to see him. Haven't heard if that's happening. Some talk Mom wants him away from some people in the Boston area. His teammate Tyrique Jones is committed to Xavier and will sign this/next week. I'd love to know more about this one, but things are pretty tight lipped.    Eron Gordon- Everyone knows this story, but seems like IU is keeping in touch. If you see IU really turn up the heat and show up at Cathedral this fall/winter I'd say that's a bad sign on Bruce Brown. I think IU gets one or the other, at this point.   Alpha Diallo- Really seems to be an upcoming prospect. De'ron Davis' AAU teammate for the Colorado Hawks but plays out east for Brewster Academy. I imagine DD's commitment helped some but there is some buzz he'll be committing to VCU this week so watch out for that.       Outside of that, you're looking at IU targeting some new faces...which is to be expected. The Davis commitment really was huge, not just from a ROI standpoint, but because it eases the pressure of finding that quality big man. I see IU now in a position to absolutely swing for the fences in Alkins and Maker, steadily recruit Brown/Gordon, identify new targets for '16 and work the hell out of '17. Today was a big day for IU, what do you guys think?
  16. This is very true. Some will try to credit McClain but Crean also really went to work here.   Credit where credit's due.
  17. My work computer is making this not nearly as fun as it could be because gif's aren't positing....but sounds like happy time around here in a few hours
  18. Do it in the meltdown thread please :)
  19. It just depends who you talk to in some recruitments. Some said UNC, some said USC. Bossi thought the "stronger", (not sure reliable is the word) source(s) were saying USC. He judged that wrong apparently.   I could tell you what I've heard, but this is one of those recruitments...I'm starting to believe his HS coach saying he is still deciding is true. I think there is more positive IU talk than MSU, for 3 years and still tonight, so I'd put my money there. But some AAU stuff for MSU makes it a bit murkier.
  20. Gist of the interview...   Fisher believes IU has the slight edge. Unsure if DD has made up his mind at this point.     ____________________________________________________________________________     Keep in mind DD's AAU coaches are where Howland's connections are, so they may paint another picture.
  21. Hoosier Hills Hoops @HoosierHills Danny Fisher, the high school coach of IU 2016 target De'Ron Davis, will join The Hoosier Report Wednesday. Davis set to announce Thursday.
  22. Just wanted to start this so no one gets in trouble  :cheese:     I'm not saying I agree or disagree with this, I just thought we should start this on a fun (?) note...I give you RMK's take on rankings...     "The credibility people give to national rankings of high school players absolutely baffles me. To the best of my ability, I can't even imagine a coach, ever, who was capable of saying, 'This kid is the thirty-second best or the thirty-fourth best small forward in the country.' I'm talking about a coach. I'm talking about a guy like me who has coached in college for 30 years: to rate this kid as the best prospect, or the twelfth-best prospect, or the eightieth-best prospect. That's impossible. Most of these guys who rate kids have no concept of what it takes to put a team together. But they give a ranking to each kid, and that sells newspapers or publications, and it's gospel. Meanwhile, nobody ever follows through and sees how often they were right, and how more often they were wrong.     Where, for example, do you suppose Larry Bird was ranked nationally as a high school player? Where was Calbert Cheaney ranked? Or Karl Malone?   So many things have happened that make it tough for a kid to keep everything in perspective as he advances in development as a person and a player - the ratings systems, the McDonald's All-Star games, the elevation of those kids at 17 or 18 years old to a national status that a Jerry West or an Oscar Robertson didn't achieve until he had played three or four all-star years in the NBA. And when it finally did come to a West or a Robertson, he had earned it, rather than having it conferred on him by some moron with a pen."   http://www.hogville.net/yabbse/index.php?topic=113852.0;wap
  23. If you're thinking the last part of the last tweet is weird, it's because it is. But that guy is an IU grad so that's why he qualified it
