  1. But you saw what happened last week, right? I kid, but honestly, I know I suggested this as the scenario but don't think that's what is going on.
  2. Oh, absolutely. IU clearly identified other prospects in April and focused on them in July. If it is IU it's going to be because of the long history here.
  3. I think most people are on the right track. I don't know, the timing seems odd. LSU certainly shot out ahead, it seemed, and with his brother in state, the geography made sense - but I don't think he has visited the school so that would be odd to rush it. Personally, doesn't seem like LSU. Butler I could certainly see and they have been around quite awhile. That would probably be my guess but, again, the timing is interesting unless he is just sure. Eron has always seemed far from sure on things, no offense. Arizona St. has some momentum but just don't see that and haven't heard anything to suggest different. IU makes some sense, timing-wise. With a recent 2G commit, and a slew of visitors...idk, I could see it. But if it's going to be IU i'd imagine I'll hear before Sat so i'll keep my ear to the ground.
  4. Idk, that'd be a really good class. Have to believe there are some guys IU is not currently recruiting who will be Hoosiers, for better or worse.
  5. IU seems to be right there with all those guards you mentioned but hard to imagine Simpson, Brown, Cujo, AND Gelon. Just an odd start to the class when you're recruiting, and recruiting well, other options at the position. Clearly IU values him as an elite shooter. As for the big in '17, IU leads for Malik Williams but others are beginning to get involved. Would have to think IU hits the visit limit for his junior year.
  6. Personally, i'm okay with that.
  7. Agreed. I think Cujo is closest to popping for IU and could on that aug 28th visit. If he doesn't then, and makes it to gtown on Sept 3rd, idk. I think the interesting thing here is probably the most talented player IU is recruiting in Miles Bridges visits that weekend with teammate, Cujo. Early reports certainly suggested MSU bc of proximity but that may be a bit overblown. UK seems to be in the drivers seat for Bridges and he does have visits scheduled for both schools after his IU visit. I've said this before though, a visit can change everything in a recruitment. Once IU gets these guys on campus they really do a great job and could turn the recruitment around. Between that and TB recruiting Bridges and Cujo, i think it's a little early to look at Bridges and say MSU or UK. Now THAT would turn this class around. Mario Kegler's recruitment is going quickly. Quick is good for Crean. It has the Troy Williams feel to it. Brown is more of a wild card from my point of view simply because I don't know a ton about his recruitment but really love his game. Davis came out and said he is down to Arizona, IU and Texas. I've heard a bunch of different things here. Arizona has not been shy about the fact that Davis is not their first option. That doesn't mean they are taking off the heat, but have heard he is aware of that fact. Texas I'm not totally sure about but just seems to be IU and Zona due to the lack of Texas chatter. Thon, who in the world knows. Hmm im just spitballing here, who else?
  8. IU is strong with Jenkins. Getting him out of the south is going to be tough though. Believe he is visiting Miss St today. Maybe we should split this out into a general 2016 thread and keep it going. We haven't really had an updated discussion in awhile. EDIT: I can't move posts on my iPad lol...fail.
  9. I've never seen him first hand, which may be enough to discredit my position for some. But I do know several who have and have touched base with them tonight. Gelon is as advertised. Good shooter. Great HS size for getting his shot off. Poor defender. Elite shooter a "certain stretch."   IU could have slow played Gelon with a potential offer as long as they wanted, seen how the class was shaping out after the early signing period, and been completely honest throughout the process without offending a soul. Who did IU have to beat on August 12th?    Gelon is a Hoosier, I am going to support the kid but to not raise any concern over, at least, the timing of this because he is from Indiana or what have you is odd to me.
  10. Smartest man in the room.
  11. Justin Albers ‏@Justin_Albers  28s28 seconds ago Indiana, USA Gelon is a 2016 prospect from Crown Point. He's IU's first 2016 commit. Was offered on visit today, immediately accepted. Elite shooter.
  12. N.D. Kendrick ‏@NDkendrick  2m2 minutes ago Wow that one really amazes me

  14. Gtown just received a commitment from a 2016 CG, Jagan Mosely.
  15. TJ Leaf decommits, expect UA to ramp it up on Davis. Also offered another Forward today.   Jeff BorzelloVerified account ‏@jeffborzello  21m21 minutes ago ESPN 100 forward Javin Montgomery-Delaurier added an offer from Arizona. Played for Team Loaded on the circuit. Stock continues to rise.
  16. Certainly part of it.
  17. IU does this pretty often and it drives hs/aau coaches bonkers.
  18. Markus Howard, as well.
  19. @Justin_Albers: 2017 F Justin Smith still plans to visit Indiana in August, his dad told me. Notre Dame, Virginia and Florida have shown recent interest.”
  20. Ryan Corazza ‏@ryancorazza  52m52 minutes ago Here at Whitney Young on Chicago's west side for the Nike Global Challenge. Tom Crean and Rob Judson in attendance. #iubb   Ryan Corazza ‏@ryancorazza  43m43 minutes ago Scrimmages tonight between four USA squads. IU targets Curtis Jones, Matt Coleman and Miles Bridges, among others, set to play. #iubb
  21. I know a guy who is plugged into the DMV area where CuJo is from and he said it's IU. Georgetown and Florida making him a priority but if it ended now it'd be IU.
  22. IU is doing very well with 2017 at the moment and that's on pretty good word. Just need to find a way to avoid the typical fade.
  23. This would be a good start to the class. Still early but given the projected class size it needs to start happening sometime soon
