Nothing, except he comes to town this weekend. The visit could get IU into the conversation going forward. Everyone knows the Syracuse and Mizzou ties are strong and a visit is about all I can see changing that.

Sooooo....big weekend here folks.

It seems that she is pretty involved which should be positive Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

It may be lost in the debate about whether the class is good or great so SIAP but I'm going to put it here again if so... Matt Hunter @MattHunter_33 spotted @_CM5 and 5 star recruit Thomas Bryant at the su football game today Syracuse - Fri-Sun with his Mom Indiana- 10/3 Mizzou- 10/10

There were rumblings that this was in the works but no real evidence of it. It's great to see IU get the visit. They still have a mountain to climb but securing the official visit is the first step. Visits can obviously switch a recruits list around.

Alex McCarthy @akmccarthy Steve McClain and strength/conditioning coach Je'Ney Jackson were instrumental in Morgan's commitment to IU.

IU is in a very, very strong position with Shake I believe

IUSPORTCOM @IUSportCom 4-star forward Juwan Morgan has committed to Indiana #iubb

Jeff Rabjohns @JeffRabjohns No kidding. RT @GoodmanESPN Indiana likely to land 6-8 F Juwan Morgan, source told ESPN. Morgan is out of Missouri. @JeffRabjohns I am not as plugged in as you when it comes to recruiting these days. Did not know it was foregone conclusion!!! My bad. Jeff Rabjohns @JeffRabjohns @GoodmanESPN I'm just teasing. Not a forgone conclusion but only 1 plugged in person says Vandy has a chance. Heavy lean may be the phrase.

I believe so. Both of Juwan's parents were on the visit. Only Dad for the Vandy visit. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Evan Daniels @EvanDaniels In 34 minutes the Recruiting Period begins. Missouri will do an in-home visit with Thomas Bryant at midnight.

The entire vibe seems different this year. I agree, it's really great to hear.
-
Now people are going to react in one way or another to the OG news but I don't see it as being a negative. I don't know what the Crystal Ball movement to Vandy is really about, but they must have heard something and all switched. It doesn't take much more than one guy hearing something and everyone piling on. Having said that, I cannot be sure in predicting IU to land Morgan, but I can tell you that everything out of Bloomington is that IU will. Again, I don't know what the info out of Nashville was the last few weeks, but the talk out of Bloomington is Morgan to IU.
-
Some stuff coming out of Bloomington suggests Wayne is wrong. We'll see what happens here pretty soon.
-
I'd be surprised if he picks Vandy. It's obviously possible but this has felt like IU/UW for way too long and I'm not sure he makes it to the UW visit.

Jeff Rabjohns @JeffRabjohns 2015 4-star F Juwan Morgan (@juwanmorgan23) has arrived at Indiana to begin his official visit.
-
Frank Cusumano @Frank_Cusumano Chris Pilz, coach at Waynesville, says he and his star player, Juwan Morgan, a 6-8 220 pd forward, had a great unofficial visit at #Mizzou

I'm not sure what your last statement means. Either explain it below, PM me, or neither lol but I just didn't get it unless you're saying Crean has a year and then his staff is gone...

I think that's a bit tough on Chuck. He isn't directly tied to a fake prep school that has 12 students who are all on the basketball team. He has gotten IU in the mix with a few prospects but July is not the time for decision making (commits) if that is what you're judging his performance thus far on.

It's all about who you hire, isn't it?

(2015) SF Ogugua Anunoby to IU
If anyone has any insight on how the visit went today, i'd appreciate it
I haven't heard, and I know I continue to say this, but IU does well on their visits...I'd be shocked if it didn't go well. I haven't read through this thread but did see a bit of confusion as to "why taking this guy" or maybe it was just "why offer." IU has scouted him several times this July it was just typically masked in the Nick Marshall scouting as they play on the same AAU team. I have no insight as to whether taking OG helps w NM but it could. The staff could just really like OG as well. I cannot comment as I haven't even seen a highlight film let alone a full game. It may be worth noting for both cases that IU has ties to Team Thad from prior recruitments. -
I don't mean to continue to derail this thread, so I'll keep my opinion here short. It's hard to commit to a program where the coach is on shaky ground. Think about it from the recruits point of view. If Crean wins this year, even the 2015 class could be impressive with spring signees. We may not know them even now. Recruiting is so fluid, and at the moment our momentum is not there. It really starts on the court. That, to me, is what was so impressive about Crean's recruiting wins in the early years. Obviously, a few ideal in-state classes coinciding with the "bringing the program back" pitch helped. If I had to guess I'd give IU the lean here on Morgan. Morgan helps with Milton, but it's far from a lock for Milton. No idea how Missouri is doing here but they are going to be hot with the new coaching staff.

Also, Washington offered another Canadian today. 6-10 Matthew Neufeld, possible 2014 guy who has quite a bit of skill, imo.
-
Evan Daniels @EvanDaniels · 8h Washington has been loading up recently. Three four-star commitments in 2015. Just added a guy that will likely fall in the top 30 range. Getting loaded for Washington in 2015. Jermaine Haley , a 6-7 PG, committed today. They have Marquese Chriss, a 6-6 PF, committed who could be a problem for Morgan but I can see selling it another way if I were Washington. Sorry for the middle of the road posts, just pretty unsure here.

IU has a shot at the last visit. If they get it then who knows. Syracuse will be tough but they may take themselves out of the conversation before Bryant gets around to making a decision if he plans to take all 5.
