  1. I mean, look...I don't get minute by minute info. I try not to have to seek it out so much. This whole thing with the Executive Session, idk to me means not a whole lot. Last I heard there were calls being made and, frankly, I would expect no less. Are they back channeling? Probably should be so I would assume. I'll try to get some info but gotta say it's always better when it just comes to me rather than fishing
  2. I think it's definitely up in the air. The situation is pretty complicated, honestly. People like donors, BOT, Athletic Department are in a lot of unprecedented ground with COVID. A lot of the donors probably made out okay and positive through it. I can think of one I've been to games with who I KNOW is struggling. Some of you may know who I'm talking about. I forget that poster who I assume got banned bc he was a pain to some but I know we had convos about this donor. Add in IU is currently searching for a new President which takes some precedent. McRobbie cared nothing about athletics, which whatever I'm cool w a hands off President in that regard but was a bit a a handcuff at times. People will combat the COVID stuff by saying "look what we just did for Tom Allen and the football program, and we're a basketball school." Check out the financials and return there and it's obviously worth it to invest in the FB program. Anyways, to say that COVID doesn't play a role, what it did for revenue streams and uncertainty going forward (things are looking up but still) it's not your standard situation. I get that "IU can find the money." Sure, is the candidate out there you want or do we fire/hire due to public pressure? No, lol, there is power in numbers but that isn't exactly how this country works unfortunately. Like I said, Dolson will make his calls. To say they're moving on solely due to W/L is naive
  3. I do think we're getting a little ahead of ourselves with the lists. I said I knew of calls being made which is essentially saying Dolson is doing his due diligence. I guess this is also a worthy topic on a message board so carry on...I have zero info about a realistic list outside of the speculative/logical options I've seen posted here
  4. Missed this. Sure, IU back channels to agents. But for the most part it remains agents- but better believe those agents have a feel for where their client is at. My assumption is it remains that way due to the coaching fraternity and it's kinda unwritten rules. So, yeah, donors aren't going in completely blind- and will sure let their opinion be known as they cut any type of check.
  5. Point being...he's open to a comeback if it's the right situation
  6. Waiting for the right opportunity. I believe he interviewed for UGA before Crean
  7. Yup, to no avail though
  8. No, certainly didn't hear that
  9. I've heard that...I've also heard from family they've gotten calls. I definitely am sure the latter is true and the former could be just only heard it from a guy I've met in person once
  10. Just that Dolson has been making calls to alums/boosters regarding money. I reached out to a family member who received that call and confirmed others have. I still have some hooks in the water so when I hear back- if it's anything interesting- I'll get it to you
  11. haha I think I'm closer to an Amber alert mathematically
  12. Nothing I've heard supports he was leaning that way. Was Purdue a player? No doubt.
  13. I told the Mod board I was back the other night. Ask me whatever, I’m hoping to know/tell ya what I can. No promises Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  14. God I miss this place. And you Old Friend, despite our differences. Can’t wait for how this season plays out. Go IU Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  15. Pretty slip there
  16. Just for some context...you'd have to be pretty close to the family to know this one. I don't know and the info channels from the athletic dept on down or some hs coaches not close enough to this one. The way those guys talk "not close enough" tells the story
  17. Man, it sure is fun when they play like that. Rob out there controlling the game. Just getting great looks with a combo of good offense and bad Illinois defense. You're not losing shooting 58% from the field Big Ten Geek @bigtengeek 4m Indiana scored 1.58 points per possession in that half. Season high for a game is 1.29 vs Chicago State.

  20. This is a largely accurate summary of the state of things down there as I’ve been told. There are significant financial achievements, construction projects, and academic initiatives. McRobbie has spearheaded (which the majority on here do not care about) but others very clearly do. McRobbie did this while significant state budget cuts to higher education were happening due to the Great Recession. The irony in it is a huge funding source which helped offset the financial problems higher education was facing was/is the Big Ten Network- which was started under McRobbies tenure- so that’ll probably chap some ***** around here. Until the BOT is pressured to make a change at the highest level or McRobbie heads off for greener pastures- IU athletics will have some extra hurdles to hop to achieve at the highest levels. I’ve never heard the GT rumors anywhere but the internet, but the BOT do plan to reconvene and discuss McRobbie’s status next spring. So there is that? 21. Green can be a maddening player. The good, then the bad. Possession by possession. It’s just what his game is. Last night it was a net positive- Thursday could be a different story. Who knows Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  22. Yeah, I'm by no means saying it should entirely replace the coach in recruiting. Hell, the coach is a huge source of data collection in the model. It would just be a collaborative tool as it is in professional sports- operating on a spectrum- some coaches/programs value it in differing degrees. I get the backlash on a site with a user base with such diversity but analytics, big data, AI, is undeniable. Ultimately, this thread was about recruiting approach and I don't think the original user who PM'd me even cared about the last bit.
