And if I remember correctly they abandoned his 3 pt heavy approach. To me, that says something about him to not be stubborn and adjust against a pillar of your philosophy -

Fwiw, I believe when these teams met earlier this year Oral Roberts was up 10 at half. Muss came back with several adjustments and whooped them for the W in the 2nd half -

That’s a different and larger conversation and one I’m willing to have. There is probably a thread on it, I’ll look. I’m just telling you IU has made that decision. -

You can be mad at IU if you want, idc either way, but there has been a decision to not pursue coaches who have put their programs on probation. -

IU not considering Scott Drew has nothing to do with HMP and everything to do with Scott Drew. -

I certainly am not calling him a savant. I do think he gets more with less. Will that translate? I speculate it could and I think there is evidence that similar have systems/philosophy win at the highest level. You speculate it wont. Like you said, that's a fair disagreement. I do think IU may not have the luxury you're speaking of- at the moment- between the landscape of coaches in BB, state of the program and themselves. It was easy to fire Archie but the devil is always in the details. -

You're a blast these days. Seems like there is no changing your mind based on the above statements soooooo despite you not understanding that sets are run off of THE OFFENSIVE SYSTEM, you seem in for rough years ahead regardless of who the coach is with the options are left. If ultimately means what I think it does, you may have found your man after all- albeit if he doesn't recruit at the same or worse level he did at Loyola as he does at Indiana. "The advantage comes in the form of having four players on the court who can effectively handle the ball and dribble into space. The driving lanes are also available because the defense is stretched out to the perimeter by the guards’ shooting ability and timely off-ball cuts. The players seem to have a keen sense of space as they consistently rotate into appropriate areas both on and off the ball. The entire roster has seemingly bought into the system and allowed it to flourish. When watching the Ramblers, one of the most eye-catching features of their offense is that the ball never sticks. The offense is initiated upon crossing half-court, and the ball rarely stops moving after that. No Loyola player dribbles aimlessly; instead, their dribbles are reserved for either penetrative movements or movements towards other players for the aforementioned hand-offs." LINK -

Sooo...offense be damned, you want to recruit at the most elite level and are holding that against a mid-major guy who has never had that opportunity when assistants are they key in that process anyways? To me, this doesn't follow a ton of logic which tells me you've made up your mind on Moser. There's a guy in Georgia who may fit your mold. -

Wayne, I encourage you to watch some Loyola film. if you haven't...honestly, I like a lot of their sets. Far from anything you've seen at IU in quite awhile. -

Can you explain to me this anti-slow ball/ pro-tempo thing? Past 5 champions 2019- Virginia- AdjT: 353 2018- Villanova- AdjT: 150 2017- Gonzaga- AdjT: 76 2016- Villanova- AdjT: 274 2015- Kentucky- AdjT: 274 AVG Adjusted Tempo from 2015-2019 champions: 225 I guess I don't see a correlation between up-tempo and winning. I'm not against it, I just don't get why so many here seem to be pushing for it over- what appears to be- logic. IF Gonzaga wins it this year they will certainly be the exception, not the rule. Someone please explain... -

But...what if the opposite style also wins big? Like, Jay Wright, Tony Bennett, Brad Stevens big. What if I told you of the 16 teams remaining, 5 play in the top 140 ^tempo? I don't dislike Oats (4 pt. line is kinda cool?) or Musselman. Musselman's got some..."quirks" but I would absolutely take them both. But this wave of up-tempo/sexy or whatever isn't the only way to win basketball games and I don't understand why people are stuck on that. I posted this last night but will repost again...you guys seem to have some of these guys on your current CBB Mt. Rushmore, unless I'm missing something. A lot of good points here. With regards to Moser, absolutely a different style of play than the current trend. I also think (and am witnessing) it be successful against more athletic competition. I like his entire swing set a lot, his weave has more options and is more intentional than CTC's 3MW. The Double High set seems to yield one of 3 good options... The goal is to slow the game down on both ends, but obviously more in your control on O/ value offensive possessions. I'll try to prove there is more than one way to skin a cat with some coaches/systems that are desired around this fanbase. Blind "style of play" resume time...
