  1. I'm all for keeping our tradition in basketball, so this may sound kind of hypocritical but here football and basketball are two completely different histories.  Our football program needs all the help it can get, and if changing the helmets gets more talented kids excited to join a program that has historically been a doormat so be it.
  2. http://www.elevenwarriors.com/2013/09/25607/ohio-state-football-recruiting-notebook-september-6   There's a little blurb about him on that OSU recruiting write up.   '15 TE Austin Dorris – Shadyside, Ohio: Dorris, an under-the-radar tight end, will visit this weekend. He recently spoke with Mark Pantoni, who asked him to come down to Columbus for a visit. West Virginia, Tennessee, Ohio, Purdue and Toledo have also invited the Ohio prospect to games this season. The 6-foot-5-inch, 215 pounds prospects plays quarterback for his high school team.    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AKnd6OCyYo Junior year highlights   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNCBCTFiNYc Under Armour AA combine
  3. No idea.  247 profile shows he was recruited by Michigan and Ohio State, but doesn't list an offer from either.  Has an offer from Marshall though.
  4. How many did you have to drink before they stopped tasting like piss water?
  5. Uhhh, your first beer in 17 months and you chose that?
  6. Hunter Littlejohn committed earlier.  More good news, Joe Belden committed today too.   Now we just need a recruit named Robin to go along with the Little John puns.
  7. Maybe Crean's top 10 contract (and universe shattering stupid 14 million buyout) was so he'd turn IU into a football school?  That'd explain some things.   No need for the Crean Defense League to throw a hissy fit, I'm only kidding.
  8. Well this thread is in the football forum.  That is probably a pretty good hint.
  9. Welcome.  Let the puns begin!
  10. He's been trending in the wrong direction the last couple years.  His velocity is down but PitchF/x shows it at 93.4 for the FB this year which is certainly enough to be successful.  His HR/FB rate is below his career line and his GB% is normal, but his LOB% is way down.  His BABIP is up which can sometimes indicate bad luck and his FIP is almost a run lower than ERA, his FIP isn't good but it's okay at around league average.   It could be mileage catching up to him.  He's thrown 200+ innings the last 7 years in a row and it's not unusual for pitchers to decline after they hit 30.
  11. Cancer is an awful thing.  He was one of baseball's best hitters, a .338 career batting average is absurd.   To let it sink in how incredible he was as a hitter, 672 times a batter has had a 3 K game but in 20 years Gwynn only did that once.  Greg Maddux, he with 3,371 career Ks never struck Gwynn out in 107 times facing him and Gwynn destroyed him with a .415/.476/.521 triple slash.
  12. I hear he's good friends with Robin of Locksley.
  13. We have to lock up Littlejohn for the puns alone.
  14. Thanks everyone.  An update, her primary physician sent her to a lung specialist about a week ago and he looked over her tests from both the hospital stay and the other ER visit and said it's an infection and that there was improvement.  Gave her an inhaler and told her to keep using the nebulizer she was given by the ER Dr. and said she should be fine in 4-6 weeks.   That's one less thing for me to worry about.
  15. I know ND had a receiver like 9 or 10 years ago get the 6th year, but he'd already used his redshirt and got hurt very early in his 5th year.  I haven't heard of it happening often, but I don't pay a whole lot of attention either.
  16. No.  You have 5 years to play 4, you can only redshirt once.  Occasionally you can petition the NCAA for a 6th year but that doesn't happen often IIRC.
  17. I suggested him when the assistant coaching spot opened up.
  18. Well thanks to my cousin and aunt we spent another 5 hours in the ER tonight (they were convinced she was released too soon and the antibiotics weren't helping).  They ran all sorts of tests, good news is the blood tests came back normal, white blood cell count was normal, XRay was normal.  They wanted to do a CT scan with contrast to rule out a blood clot and there was no sign of a clot, but it did pick up something with some of her nodes and one of her lungs and said it could be a chronic condition with her being a long time smoker, they sent her home with a nebulizer and want her to see her primary physician and he could send her to a lung specialist.   Now I'm going to be worried about that.  Yay.
