#1 INDIANA FOOTBALL 2025 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS
JSHoosier replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Well yeah. If those defensive ends though are living in our backfield it will be a long game; they're too good to shutdown but we need to limit the damage they do. Keep them from getting home and it'll put more pressure on their corners to keep our receivers covered. -

Hopefully Smith and Benson bring their A games and limit the impact those defensive ends have. -

A few years ago a recruit like this from Texas may be surprised to learn that Indiana has football. -

The cinematic endings do sometimes happen. Unfortunately the reason they make good stories is because they don't happen often. -

Finishing with a win would be the kind of thing movies get made of. My gut leans toward Miami taking it but we know this team will fight. Of course my gut expected Bama and Oregon to be close and we took them behind the woodshed. -

Bizarro world. IUBB has turned into the Washington Generals, IUFB looks like a powerhouse and playing for a national title.

We couldn't fire Woodson after 3 years, people might make the mistake of thinking this is a serious program.
-
This is IU. He'd get 4 minimum even if it was beyond obvious he should be gone after 3.
-
It was Woodson, that money would've been better used if it was burned for heat. His coaching could've screwed up the 92 Dream Team.
-
Because it's year 1. We keep coaches too long, but year 1 is a bit trigger happy.
-
Because it's IU. Any coach has to have plenty of time to make a complete mess of things. Short of some sort of scandal, like hiring hookers for recruits, you couldn't get anyone if you fired a coach after year 1.
-
Rich people threw good money to try and buy a roster that Woodson couldn't screw up. Rich doesn't mean smart.
-
Wow, Woodson never should've been hired and it took longer than this for the fire thread to get started. Impressive, impressively awful but impressive. I had the same feeling about Devries that I had about Miller. I was right the first time, we'll see if I'm right again. Should've been a red flag when the only player from his last team that wanted to follow him was his son. Of course, this is IU and if this administration was capable of good basketball decisions the last 25+ years wouldn't have happened. They've been so utterly incompetent you'd be forgiven for thinking they were intentionally ruining the program.

Hopefully Haines has something cooked up to get in the backfield, that Miami OL has a lot of beef up front. The average weight difference between their OL and our DL is something like 60 pounds; our guys have a chip and have shown they shouldn't be underestimated but that's a good size difference. -

I'm not really worried about this game. Miami is a good team, they're good against the run and have some players that could be problems; a loss would suck but wouldn't be surprising. Plus this has already been an extraordinary season by IUFB standards. 2 years in we won the B1G, left Bama somewhere along the highway in Pasadena, and if we beat the Ducks any worse PETA would've gotten involved. Recruiting looks to be on the upswing and the team is fundamentally sound and disciplined. Winning it all would be icing on what's already been a very sweet treat. That said, I would thoroughly enjoy it if we went BTA on them. So I hope the team and staff got new belts, the last ones have to be wore out. -
Figures Miami would be on there. Beck has to be out of eligibility after approximately 23 years in college.

Never would've thought we'd be playing for a title in football before basketball. -

Seems pretty clear the staff wants to add another running back. Beebe, Richard, Martin, Cuono already on the roster so seems like someone would be leaving.
