  1. Seems to me that by Monday mid-day, we will have a pretty good idea of what next year's roster will look like.
  2. He's Jared Sullinger. Meh
  3. Connections to the Miller family, abudanza! Sean Miller, Calipari, and I'm sure soon Archie will be on this young man.
  4. Yes...Kevin Wilson style! Completely agree.
  5. It's quite simply a choice in how you want to conduct yourself; personally, and as a basketball program: Cutting corners and gravitating toward the edge of the page is ultimately unsatisfying. For those that have done so, few are ultimately glad they did. For those who conduct themselves in a way that they can look back with pride, few regret their integrity. Holier than though? Nope; not expecting the program to be flawless; not expecting the program to ignore measures and activities that are allowed. However, I am very much hoping and expecting for a program that is confident that, if people knew what was going on behind the scenes, they would come away more impressed, not less. And don't for a minute think it can't be done or doesn't get done: Florida under Donovan, Butler under Stevens, IU under Knight (minus the coach's anger issues, perhaps), Nova under Wright. Michigan under Belien, are just a few examples that immediately come to mind.
  6. Since this thread is a bit of a referendum on next season, below is a "way too early" USA Today pre-season poll for next year. NOTE: The Archie effect has put our Hoosiers as a pre-season #15 ranking nationally, which in this poll makes them the highest ranked B1G team! https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaab/2017/04/04/college-basketball-early-preseason-2017-18-top-25-march-madness/99893982/
  7. Terrible awareness + terrible knees = terrible defense = not drafted.
  8. And you better keep your distance, young fella!
  9. Welllll... You get a coaching staff with superior judgment which can accurately assess whether they have a legitimate shot at actually closing the deal with Garland, so that we don't waste time, energy, and attention that could be spent on a fantastic player like Phinisee. We haven't necessarily had that dynamic in a while, and I can't wait to see it in action.
  10. Ooof. 54 years old, has never coached college ball at any level, and has never been a head coach anywhere, at any level... ever. Apparently 5* Mitchell Robinson now leaves Western Kentucky to play for Ewing and his godfather (who will be on Ewing's staff) but still: Ooof.
  11. If we have Bruiser AND Ostrom will be very, very well positioned with recruiting.
  12. This. One if the game's great personalities. With us for recruiting. Archie is the floor coach and deal closer. A functional, sensible methodology!
  13. Gonna introduce you to Olivia Pope! I think it could work!! [emoji173][emoji173][emoji3][emoji3][emoji173][emoji173]
  14. On his year off from hoops: https://www.google.com/amp/www.philly.com/philly/sports/colleges/drexel/20170301_Jensen__Bruiser_Flint_on_his_year_off_from_hoops.html%3Famphtml%3Dy
  15. Well.... Either you're joking or... [emoji21]
  16. Did he misspeak when he defecated in the middle of the locker room or when he choked Reed?
  17. Not more of a coach than recruiter in my book. Back in the day he was one of Calipari's first AAU deal makers.
  18. There is another option besides manipulative and two-faced or just a plain old (but honest)...jerk! If Coach Knight is choosing the "plain old jerk" option, that is not a compliment.
  19. Incredibly talented. Incredibly interesting. Mis-wired.
  20. FWIW...over the past few years Izzo has also cited losing players because he wouldn't pay when others would. I imagine that Trey Lyles is in the front of FCTC's mind on this topic.
  21. Kuwik, Ostrom, Cheaney, Tonagel, Lewis. Get a couple of them and I'm a happy man.
  22. I was a senior. At IU. Who went to New Orleans. It was pretty damn good, boys. It was pretty damn good.
