That is really, really strong work. Damn near perfect combo of tradition and current.

(2018) PG Darius Garland to Vandy
Stuhoo replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I'll give my uneducated opinion: Anyone saying that Tre Jones's commitment to Duke was irrelevant or a Duke net-positive was either speaking in platitudes or flat-out lying. Both Darius and Tre want to be the guy with the ball in their hands; Tre claimed that spot for the Dukies. I like our odds given that I fully expect IU's Hoosier Hysteria weekend to be Darius Garland's final official visit. You think it's any coincidence that the Duke 247 predictor was the one who just flipped to IU? Darius will be in Bloomington the weekend of 10/21; he will not be Raleigh/Durham the following weekend. Vandy is a real option. But, of his final five, if he makes it onto Duke or UCLA's campus I will be more than a little surprised, and only then will I re-assess my optimism. It would also be mighty helpful if, as is widely expected, 5* pg Immanuel Quickley, who announcing tonight, pops for the dirty, stinkin' Kensucky Wildcats. If we don't sign either Darius or Romeo I'm better-than-okay and I get it, but things are already really good and could get a whole lot better. -

Just checked and you are absolutely correct: Garland plays for Bradley Beal - Nike, and Vandy is a Nike school too. -

Remember, growing up, via his dad, IU was Darius's (not Romeo's) dream school. When your dream school has a great coaching staff, the shoe company that's supported your programs, and is an all-around great fit... -
(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

Yup - a starting lineup of Davis, Morgan Garland, CuJo, and JSmith/CMoore/JHunter is really, really good. Unlimited-ceiling good in fact. -

We already have a very, very good 2018 class, and are primed to have an even better one in 2019...in Archie's first two years. No matter whether we lose high-end recruits to Vandy or anywhere else, we haven't fallen and no one is slapping our face; in fact, we're already well under way in our rise up. -

I'm right about where you have been damage-wise. One tree down in the yard, went 48 hours without power, damn I feel fortunate that we were not permanently affected. Glad to hear you pulled through reasonably well Nips.

Ed Shilling is such a good recruiter because he's such a good basketball coach. The best players understand that. And, FWIW, Tom Ostrom is such a good recruiter because...he's such a good recruiter. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Have you considered this one?

You forgot what may be the best on-court part about Durham: The young fella can really, really finish at the rim. Like a super-creative, herky-jerky, old school Sam Cassell knack for that.
-
I know I've been in the minority around here; there are many Green fans on the board and I'm not one of them. That having been said, I really enjoyed watching him last year; I just don't see the potential in him that some others do. I like Durham's unknown potential far, far better too.
-
I'm sure about who was better last year, and I agree with you 100%. I'm sure about the second part too.
-
Okay; maybe that was last year. Do you really think that DeVonte has more upside than CuJo as a shooter, shot creator, and defender in the future? I don't. There's no upside to a 6'1" shooting guard.
-
I really don't think he has much upside! I'm kinda a 180 from you; I really enjoyed watching him play last year, but I don't see him getting much run as Archie upgrades the talent level. I see Green as a very undersized two guard with a mediocre handle but a killer competitive attitude, and no potential to be a starting point guard.
