  1. Hamidou Diallo "returning" to UK after refusing to play last year. Per Zagoria, came back because he couldn't get a first round guarantee, and determined to be a top ten pick next year. Nice recipe for team basketball and predicted shot selection, eh? Calipari does a nice job of juggling egos among kids that want to be at UK as little time as possible, but...oof.
  2. I'm not seeing anything official on that kid yet (though it's likely he returns)
  3. Can I cry "Uncle!"? It is almost always the same result, but I guess as Tim Priller can attest, it is not the same thing!
  4. Not to nitpick, but these two concepts are pretty much the same thing.
  5. Archie has been repeatedly quoted that he prefers to have eight or nine playing rotation-level players, and we've already got at least that many for the coming year (DeRon, RoJo, CuJo, DeVonte, Josh, Juwan, Collin, Freddie, Justin). Archie has gone on to say (and in my opinion, he's right) that if you have too many players that expect regular minutes, it can sow resentment and screw up the team dynamic. Because of this, Archie has routinely left a scholly roster spot open, or at the very least, reserved it for a red-shirt or "high upside-doesn't expect to play" type. That fits Nahziah Carter perfectly. It does not fit a grad transfer at all.
  6. Not Grant's fault, but he NEVER should have been recruited to IUBB. Nice young man who was not the best player on his high school team. Offered by FCTC after a perfect storm week of hot shooting in AAU ball; had a pretty mediocre senior high school season thereafter. Was never a Zeisloft/Roth level high school player, and had zero foot speed - and therefore no ability to ever defend his position at a high major level. My guess? The first workout he had where Archie and staff realized his complete lack of defensive ability, his days as an IU player were numbered.
  7. ^^This^^ And that's not just random speculation. Prior Dayton commit Eligible for 2017 Decommitted from Dayton as soon as Archie left, and only then started looking at prep school and a 2018 re-class Huge upside player that kinda blew up in high-level AAU ball this summer Quoted as coveting an IU offer, but projected that he'd rather not wait till '18 to get one AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: COULD VERY WELL FACILITATE UNCLE JAY Z and AUNT BEYONCE'S APPEARANCE AT ASSEMBLY HALL!!! Moral of the story? "When life hands Grant Gelon lemons, it may be time to make... Lemonade!"
  8. Tijan or Haris would be waaay cooler!
  9. Was your similar experience with Tijan or Haris Mujezinovic? Cause that'd be cool.
  10. No need to be sorry: the "99% prediction" from a new source is noteworthy; just wanted to highlight that BTB has someone who is careful, accurate, and most importantly...potentially right on point.
  11. That's a lot of traveling on the young man's own dime! Wonder what shoes he's wearing and how the makers of those shoes are getting him to all those places ;)
  12. FWIW...Other board is saying that Gelon is gone as of this afternoon. This board first broke that as a distinct possibility through a respected poster... Last week.
  13. I think that USPS just called Brass "a crying baby." C'mon guys; work out your late night differences! ;)
  14. I will try to translate (even though I'm an old clucker): "That boy is a PROBLEM" = If you're playing against Trendon or trying to guard him, you're in trouble. So there.
  15. He did; he just didn't speaketh the name in print. Read the last few pages of the thread, including the "likes".
  16. Suggested nicknames for Trendon Watford: "Wat-T" "Pooky" "Middle School Trendon (MST)" "Flounder" (after all, he's a legacy!) "Trend-o-rooski" "Kei-Ford" (In conjunction with his future frontcourt mate Keion Brooks) "Competitor Who's Awesome Too" (aka; CWAT... oh, wait...) "Called Watford, And T.wat? Never, Okay?" (CWAT-NO)
  17. While I understand the connection to "CWat", that is probably NOT the nickname we would want to give to his brother. Just sayin'.
  18. IMO, you will not be wrong; either way you are accurately sharing what you've heard. Your source might be wrong, not you, and the board should remember that, so that solid posters who share good info know that they are valued!
  19. Well heck, if that were the case that would imply that CWat was really not a fan of Crean.
  20. Avery Johnson/Calipari/Roy, etc could easily overcome the pull of IU if Crean were still there. Archie just may be able to reinforce Trendon's superb memories of IU, and couple them with the future potential of IU. Halleluiah, and Amen.
  21. An option???? "Off the court, Eric Ayala is expected to graduate with top honors in his class next week. He has already qualified for college, including passing the SAT and ACT, and is turning his attention to what he might focus on in college. He taken numerous unofficial visits, according to his coach, but has yet to take one of his five official visits. “Eric comes from a strong family, and he is a great student,” Espinosa says. “Whatever he decides to do, he’ll do the right thing.” If Ayala decides to classify into the Class of 2017, a scholarship would need to open for him to join Indiana’s team. However, if Ayala reclassifies into the Class of 2018, the Hoosiers would have five open scholarships. According to his coach, Ayala holds 22 scholarship offers from all around the country, including Syracuse, Arizona, Connecticut and Maryland. Indiana offered the 6-5, 190-pound combo guard on April 24. Realistically, Ayala could just get up and go if the opportunity presented itself."
  22. There is NO question that Tom Crean would have offered and vigorously pursued Trendon Watford.I DO have real questions about whether Crean would have been able to seal the deal with him.
