  1. The only one I currently see as a strong possibility, maybe even a strong likelihood, is Burton. Certainly in the priority mix with others. And Burton is a good start. By the way… if we start closing on competitive recruitments, that’s a very good sign that the staff is able to sell a vision of development to players and their representatives. There’s big money in many places, and competitive recruitments require an effective sale of a vision and development, not solely a money offer.
  2. Alexander-Moody. As a fourth guard more mature than most freshman. He’s gonna play I strongly suspect. But like I said, been fooled too many times and I’ll only believe all of this when I see it.
  3. I will only believe it if I see it, but Burton, Mustaf, Harris, and Prince would be a talent/athleticism upgrade at guard of unimaginable levels.
  4. D Boon… gone way too soon: https://archive.org/details/ajc00770_minutemen1985-05-03.ajcproject
  5. And then transition to Folk Implosion.
  6. That’s Galen Clavio’s site, so that’s as credible an IU source as it gets short of IU actually making an announcement.
  7. Wow… this is amazing: https://archive.org/details/ajc00724_john-cale-1987-01-30
  8. Alex Chilton finishing a 1987 set at the Cubby Bear with a 7+ minute cover of Disco Lady? Count me in.
  9. What if I told you that those 55 points came on 15 shots?
  10. Four? No. But market price because he can still pursue other options? Yes.
  11. Feels like we might be the only car in the race.
  12. And Mustaf is exactly the kind of upside play that can make our team better than expected if the evaluation is correct. He could also break the team if the evaluation sucks.
  13. Love the idea of Reibe. And I think we have a real prior relationship with him. To me he’s worth slightly overpaying market price.
  14. Fantastic-Plant is 77 and his voice still has resonance—don’t smoke young performers and this can be you. He sings under the super high notes but otherwise he still has vibrato and everything else. Also—props to the Colbert show. The sound mix was pristine.
  15. lol … not just you Chris— all you guys are acting a little jaded! It is entirely possible that they found a soul mate in each other that made looks largely irrelevant. As a guy who has been happily married to my far better looking best friend for 26 years I am a testament to its possibility.
  16. Likely put a lot of work in to earn the Zoom opportunity. We would have loved to get an in-person I’d assume. Instead, we’re a cursory outside chance that has no real chance. We aren’t like Michigan, that has player agents coming to them. We’re more likely a well-financed non-option that can raise the bidding market. To me the most viable path to success is finding athletic prior underachievers like Mustaf and developing them. The Dukes and Michigans don’t need to roll the dice on a kid like that.
  17. MSU has the perfect role, coach, and track record of success. And we wouldn’t be the only school willing to match financial offers like similar lesser programs. To me this seems like wasted effort by the staff—I don’t see any path here.
  18. I frequently pick out “To Live Is to Fly” on the guitar. Townes is the best, and he couldn’t sing worth a sh!t so me croaking out his vocals doesn’t seem sacrilege. Pancho and Lefty, and Wichita Lineman the two greatest Americana songs ever written? Wouldn’t hear an argument from me.
  19. Road to Zion’s insider predictions:
