There’s no SI article that has any real reporting IMO. It’s not the prior era SI—it’s now primarily AI slop from mama’s basement.

A day late, but for Juneteenth? A quiet Saturday night and a killer album from Valerie June:

Them boys gonna be hitching up their kilts.

They pretty much took over Boston and they were damn happy just to have made the field. Tons of incredibly nice people. Scots and Moroccans hugging it out before and after the game, and all hands rooting for team USA in the pubs pregame. It was epic.
-
Staff is saying he’ll be 100% for Türkiye. They’d be stone cold crazy to play him. i was in Foxboro for the Scotland/Morocco match yesterday. One of the best sporting events I’ve ever attended. Scottish are VERY fun to hang out with.

Incredible sporting event. Incredible game. And that’s an understatement. If you haven’t dove in; that’s a you problem. US looks fantastic. Ivory Coast just took a first half lead over Germany. Discuss!!

That’s about $15 million in revenue. My first blush reaction is that this really sucks, but I can’t put my finger on exactly how. Full price students pay for academic scholarship students to go to a school and this seems to be an exponential version of the same thing.

Prince Alex and media observers all kinda comped Karvala’s skill set to Troy Williams (on the court-not with some crazy weed habits). So that’s intriguing.

The last time I saw as mature yet fun and focused attitude with an IU freshman was with VO. Prince Alex Moody is it. Even with multiple veteran guards he’s gonna play. A lot.

And here are the observations from Mike Schumann. Common observations from both articles? Of the less established players, Sisley and Alex Moody very much look the part. Also, no mention of Lindsay in either article so I assume he’s dinged. Also multiple mentions about size and athleticism with multiple players, which is a welcome change after last year. https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/iu-basketball-quick-player-observations-from-open-practice/

We also have one unfilled spot. I would guess that three or four is about right. -

I tell you what. Just found this extended video that is over a year old, so he's only gotten better. Good lord he is explosive. And long. And his legs are like tree trunks. As @Demo said - football edge rusher build. I don't say this lightly: He's an OG Anunoby physical clone. Whoever turned our staff on to this off-the-radar kid needs a big thank you. I'm all in on him as an add; especially since we may have been the first P4 program to dive in hard. Get him on campus.

(2027 IUWBB - Anna Moser to Florida

She's taking her official visits to P4 schools, but looks like not to UConn - level' schools. Would be a fantastic get. She is hyper-shifty, fearless, and fun to watch, and plays with a scowl on her face. Videos remind me of (I know I'm pulling this out of nowhere but there's something about her playing style and facial expresions) Neil Reed at his best. -
I like this recent Instagram video a lot. College ready physically. Long arms and a heavy, solid base. Quick release. Not super explosive but strong, and most importantly? For a high school 6'6" player, really, really sharp, focused handle with body lean with the ball in his hands.

If @Class of '66 Old Fart wasn't on hiatus partying in Vegas with Sorsby and Pavia, this recruiting report would be far better organized.

IUWBB - News and Notes
Stuhoo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Women's Basketball
Just find the Google link: The young lady may be a wonderful addition (I hope so!) but she has not practiced and has rarely ever played against a 6'0" tall or more player; she's the only 6' player on her Northern Canadiian small school roster. The "cheat code" highlight videos from her monster game show highlights of her rebounding missed free throws and scoring, and blocking shots over players that look to be between 5'5" and 5'8". Guess which player she is from her championship team roster: The good news is that this is a no-harm, 15 scholly dart throw, and also that this is an older player - in Canada college doesn't start until age 19. -

Let’s talk Roster! 2026/2027
Stuhoo replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
In this market for bigs? I'd be surpirsed if Sisley isn't getting at least $1.25 m. And the market for wings is much lower - Lindsay at least has a record of real success as a D1 starter and I could see him as high as $2, but I doubt it. Harris was a back bencher wing; that's not a $2 million player; I suspect that if he was coming from any place other than Duke you'd agree. -
Let’s talk Roster! 2026/2027
Stuhoo replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It's a good question. Let's do the math, and with an agreed understanding that bigs cost the most, followed by point guards, and then wings. I'm thinking Sherrell got $5m and Yigi got $4m as the two primary bigs; add $1.25m for Sisley and we've paid out over 1/2 the roster for the three primary bigs. So let's say $3.5 for Burton because he's a pg, $2 for Mustaf, $1.25 for Harris and $1.25 for Lindsay. That's $18.25m for our top seven and $1.75m spread around the other five players. Sound about right? If we generally agree on this estimate, to add Alvaro freakin' Figueirous we would have had to drop Sisley, Harris, and Lindsay, more or less. If that happened THEN how would you like our depth? Our starting five would be Burton, PMoody at the two, Mustaf at the three, Sherrell and Yigi, with Figueirous as the first big off the bench, Monden as our primary backup guard, and Karvala as the primary backup wing.
