  1. How is Benson’s permanently F’d up ankle? Asking on behalf of Arvell Reese.
  2. 100% this. We all trust in Haines. This defense has consistently, without exception made quarterbacks uncomfortable. They are now playing a team that has consistently, without exception kept their quarterback comfortable. Seems like if I had to pick a key to the game this will be it. Can Bones’ blitzes get there and can disguised schemes allow Daley and Kamara to pressure? Can we hit Sayin early and give him something to think about even when he’s safe? Damn it’s gonna be fun to see!
  3. Their play style seems to be a vast majority of quick hit, safe passing with an occasional big shot try when teams press up. Much less emphasis on 10-25 yard throws. That prevents turnovers when the O line is good.
  4. Kiffin = rat poison.
  5. Nothing personal, but that’s a Tom Allen team-ish post.
  6. It’s really good to start B1G play with a road win. This is as winnable as the road gets. Stars currently aligned for the Hoosiers.
  7. The Oh S U arrogance will be palpable. Beat their a$$es.
  8. A trillion is a lot. Did you include my bonus for picking IU to win?
  9. Makalusky with six rebounds in 20 minutes? Been wondering about her on court intensity—that’s a really really good sign. If she can rebound and defend the shooting will come around for sure.
  10. A classic “lose the press conference good choice?” That would be optimal for them.
  11. Washington HC and Florida alum Jedd Fisch apparently emerging as the front runner for the UF job. Head coaching record of 31-32. Gator nation will NOT be enthused if this is the choice.
  12. Jury is still out; Miss Valley St is 1-7 with their only win against the D3 team “Mississippi College for Women” (yes; for real- that’s a men’s team). A&M is 5-2 and has not beaten a top 250 team yet.
  13. For sure — good coaches find ways to adjust. But a guy like Edey could struggle; our bigs do a lot of perimeter screening; planting a big under the basket could create a two v one game on perimeter actions. And Edey on the perimeter and having to drop cover a flashing big is a good situation for this offense.
  14. I’m starting to get Xavier Booker vibes here. How much intensity can he be playing with when he’s putting up those numbers with his five star talent?
  15. Barry Odom opened his Bucket week press conference quite literally with “Happy Thanksgiving, for those who celebrate it.” You asked “Who the f doesn’t celebrate Thanksgiving?” Puredoo Coach Barry Odom is not sure, and he’s not taking any chances!! :)
  16. Boogie Fland is solid-ish. As you said; Lee is terrible. Klavzar is much improved. UF doesn’t really have a fourth guard. UF has major guard problems and there’s no real options to solve the problems.
  17. Tell you what: The Lions/Packers Thanksgiving Day game halftime show is a live performance by the White Stripes with Eminem kicking in for one number and absolutely nothing pre-recorded. it was pretty freaking epic.
  18. That’s where scheme comes in. Our actions are designed to free players in certain areas and to draw the defense to certain areas. In very basic terms, we screen, space, and move to open spots behind the three point line, and then flash bigs or drive guards all the way to the rim once the defense gets far extended. You are a guy that appreciates RMK: He had a motion offense that freed up shooters all over the court; that is, until the 1987 addition of the three point line and Alford. At that point, his motion offense turned into a scheme to free up Alford in deep space. That’s what he used for Jay Edwards and Evans too. Problem is, RMK never really had a shooter of that caliber after those three.
  19. I gave thanks that turkey Woody is gone. And beyond my real world family & friends loves? For IUFB and now basketball, and for this fantastic place with like minded outstanding people to discuss it all.
  20. It’s all about points per possession. If guys like Wilkerson and Devries hit 60% of open 15 footers and 50% of open three-pointers, they are scoring far more by shooting three-pointers. And that’s without including that the offensive rebounding percentage is higher on missed three-pointers than on missed two pointers. That’s why three pointers and 75+ % shots at the rim are the most efficient and productive ways to score.
  21. That is a Derik Queen comp if I ever read one.
