  1. I fear that CH has played his last game as an IUBB scholarship player. I could easily see him getting a Derek Elston-style role after this year, especially since Derek is not going to hang around all that long in his current role without looking for career advancement. I know most are ready for the news on Collin's knee to be bad, but y'all need to prepare yourself for him to be a four year scholarship player, not a five year player. We all want to have: Balanced classes, To give scholarships to players that will pursue an IU degree, and To have room for high-level new players to commit with some certainty that a spot will be available. Collin being done will meet all of those criteria, and he will now have missed almost two years with leg injuries. As I said, be prepared for his scholly playing days to end, unless there is an unexpected open slot. BTW, that no doubt happens sometimes - Danny Moore and Jeff Howard both got a scholly year, but in Matt Roth's year it wasn't in the cards. Now...time for a whole lot of discussion on this reasonably likely situation!
  2. Meanwhile, Purdoodoo is running out of 2017 options. They are about to go O-fer the top 200. AND... With only one incoming freshman this year (though potentially a good one) their cupboard is going to get pretty low on supplies, unless they want to become "grad transfer U".
  3. The man grew up with a helicopter. You got a problem with dat?!?
  4. Uh oh... Coach Nips is pissed.
  5. So would reasonable defense. If we get that, the rest is all good.
  6. All CTC will have to do is show Wilkes tape when two or three of CH, Troy, OG, and Juwan were on the court together from last year. All of them inside AND regularly stepping out past the 3 pt line
  7. I KNEW that having Troy and Hollowell handle the ball too much could have some purpose, some day.
  8. I'm pretty sure that CNN and Fox will cancel whatever crap they had on tonight for this news! (Thank you thank you ... Please tip your waitress)
  9. Announcement this Friday? Edit!!!!!
  10. I got great seats two years ago via the Notre Dame box office site.
  11. A very very very sad day.
  12. Jerry Meyer just came in with an IU pick.
  13. 'Scuse me while I bump myself!
  14. Completely positively, I believe. Put yourself in Wilkes's shoes; a high level teammate, already signed, with high character, that will compete with you in practice, and that you will outrank for game minutes. That's a positive. Wilkes is not even a little concerned that Smith would "steal his minutes."
  15. Alex Bozich @insidethehall Statement from IU: "Indiana Football has dismissed freshman Kiante Enis from the program effective immediately."
  16. Innocent until proven guilty. If he's proven guilty? Nothing is too harsh.
  17. Durham, Waters, Smith, Moore, and a Max Bielfeldt clone and I'm satisfied. More than that? Gravy Less than that? Not especially thrilled, not at all.
  18. Thems some big 'ifs', doc! Let's get Smith if we can. He's a big time player that is likely to stay at least three years, an A+ character kid, academics, family, athletic upside. He IS the proverbial bird in the hand. Moore still has three or four OVs scheduled. Wilkes is reasonably likely to finish his OV process and commit first, especially if he wants IU.
  19. Other boards are optimistic, and site empirical evidence .Like...post IU-visit he was back at the Kelley School with his parents, and that he might skip the Stanford OV.

  21. I want to win with student athletes, not an NBA developmental team of no degree mercenaries.
  22. Welllll.... While Hammons was not as good a player as Cody, Hammons showed as far back as high school that he was going to be a really good college player, as evidenced in part by his ability to have a big game in high school against players the caliber of Cody. As for CMoore, I'm pretty sure that when IU is recruiting him, they are doing so with no illusions that he will ever play significant minutes at the 5, especially as a freshman. BTW, had their recruitments been successful, I'm pretty sure that the same IU coaching staff had no intention of ever using Malik Williams or Jaren Jackson for significant minutes at the 5.
  23. I am going to copy and paste, and quote this post on a regular basis. In about 200 words, you have completely and perfectly summarized the entirety of the issue. KUDOS, and THANKS!!
