We got great news  on Friday! Results from the PET scan came back and the cancer hasn't spread to my lymph nodes! So now we get to move on to the easier treatment and kick it to the curb quickly! Thank you everyone for the prayers! GOD IS GREAT!

Win 10-2 on Saturday. 
Woke up late with six runs in the 7th and four in the 9th. 
Mathison had a three-run HR and Mitchell a two-run single. 
Bothwell throws five innings of 1-run relief (allowed 5 hits) to get the win. 
Sets up the rubber game tomorrow. First pitch at 1 p.m.

One of the other photos he posted in his announcement tweet... yes, get the best players you can wherever they're from... but, I do love having players on the roster who grew up as fans of IUBB, who wearing the jersey means just a liiiitttle bit more to... Can't tell me that's not a positive for the locker room/program culture.

Indiana women's basketball doesn't rebuild; we reload. This will be a top 25/top of the B1G team again. Bet on it.

5-foot-7 guard -- averaged 11.5 points, 2.4 assists, 2.1 rebounds in 25.1 minutes last season for Penn State. 
Shot 42.3% from distance. Should be an excellent addition -- presumably can slide into Scalia's starting slot.

Earlier today Assembly Call posted this tweet comparing 2 freshman guards.  I'm not into guessing games so I'll tell you that A = Jalen Hood-Schifino and B = Carlyle.  Just an interesting comparison

Women pick up a run-shortened 9-0 win over Butler.  Kleiman started and allowed 1-hit through 4 innings; Montgomey pitched the 5th and gave up Butler's only other hit in the game.  We had 10 hits with Copeland, Minnick & Benson each with 2.  Minnick and Parker each 3-RBI and Benson had 2.  Of our 10 hits, 5 were for extra bases.  We had 3 doubles, a 3-run HR from Minnick and a 3-run HR from Parker.  Our overall record is now 35-13.
 Next weekend we host Wisconsin (17-26) (6-11) and the on May 3-5 we're on the road at Northwestern (29-9) (15-2) for the conclusion of regular season play.

She can play, though. She was in shambles after the game, I respected it. It meant something to her. 

I’ve got a really nice story for you all:
I just had a Bloomington college frat reunion weekend. A bunch of guys in their 50’s reminiscing. A truly perfect end to the weekend?
Five of us walking down the stairs of the Union after brunch at the Tudor Room at 11:15 this morning.
Waiting for us at the bottom of the stairs in the Union Hotel lobby? Woody and Walsh with Kaanan Carlyle and his mom. We chatted up Carlyle for two or three minutes and congratulated him—shook his hand and welcomed him to the family. He’s got a really easy smile and nice way about him. Looked us all in the eye and had that “Indiana is different” happy look.
Handshakes with Woody: “love you Coach-great month we’re having.” Woody handshake back- “appreciate it guys.” Talked with him for a minute or two. Trailing behind us was Ya, Kenya, and a very wide awake and engaged Armond Hill.
Great stuff.

A weekend sweep for the women and their 9th conference win in a row taking today's game 7-3.  The bottom half of the 1st was nearly as strange as the top half.  Copeland started on the mound and gave up a single, a double, another single and just like that the game was tied 2-2 with nobody out.  She pitched the 2nd inning and then turned the mound over to Kleiman  Sophie pitched the last 5 innings giving up just 3 hits and 1 run.  We had 8 hits led by Copeland, Parker & VanBrandt each with 2.  And oddly enough, each of them also had 2 RBI.  After today's win our season record is 34-13 and our conference record 10-7.
This coming Wednesday at 4:00 we play Butler on the road.  Next weekend we host Wisconsin (17-26) (6-11) and the on May 3-5 we're on the road at Northwestern (29-9) (15-2) for the conclusion of regular season play.  

Great outing for Kleiman throwing a 3-hitter and Hoosiers take a 9-1 win, our 8th conference win in a row.  We had 9 hits led by Bassett with 3 and Minnick and Cooper 2 each.  6 different batters had 1-RBI; Iowa errors led to our other 3 runs.  Go for the weekend sweep tomorrow at 2:30 ET and televised on BTN.
 

Stanford transfer Kanaan Carlyle, a top-10 player in the portal, has committed to Indiana, @On3sports has learned. The 6-3 freshman guard averaged 11.5 PPG this season. Former top-50 recruit.

A masterful pitching performance from Copeland throwing a 2-hit shutout and Hoosiers open the weekend with an 8-0 win.  She walked 2; struck out 2.  14 of Iowa's 21 outs from infield ground outs.  We had 12 hits led by Stone with 3 and Minnick, VanBrandt and Andrews each with 2.  Minnick had 3 RBI and Stone had 2.  Tonight was our 7th conference win in a row and evens our conference record at 7-7.

Kinda curious as to what irons in the fire we have in regards to the portal. That info isn't as readily available as on the men's side. 
We have a good core coming back with some nice pieces coming in, but could use some help. And we've got schollys to play with. 
Really want to see us continue to be a player on the national scene. 

I pray that was a condition for admittance to the B1G.
