The football forum is pretty good, there are three or four insiders that post very good info and there are some mods. The basketball forum is a war zone — fights, trolls, etc. Part of the issue is there is a political forum full of crappy nonstop arguments and the animosity spills over into other forums. It’s an even weirder place post-Peegs.

The average age on the Rivals board is pretty high and they love Chris Beard and constantly lament that he isn’t being considered. That place is an unmoderated mess too — not a good time.

I’d guess some others do too, but I know a few IU media people and the stuff they can tell you is amazing. But they don’t always run articles on it because of many reasons: (i) their sources may want it kept confidential, or at least not printed, (ii) it’s not double-sourced or sufficiently verified per journalistic standards, (iii) it’s not really relevant to their broader audience, and/or (iv) an article on it would cause a shitstorm of blowback from IU. Given the above, that’s what makes message boards useful (and fun) for early stage and niche info.

Yes, the Stevens stuff is message board rumors. But, some of these rumors have truth in them. Once again, this is the point of message boards -- to get early information even if it isn't perfect. If that isn't your thing, just read the IndyStar or Herald-Times for the confirmed and final version of the story.

Rabby seems less connected than ever. I’ve got a few friends on his site and I listen to some of his interviews. On most topics he is vague and hedges, probably because he doesn’t know. Then when it happens he claims he knew. He can be right sometimes, I just rarely find him to be insightful.

Even if Brad declines, I really trust Scott and I'm very happy we have him. I'm confident he is competently doing everything he can to get IUBB back to the top of the CBB world.

I don't like the sound of "orders" if you mean those are coming from people at IU. Orders from Brad are fine.

UK, UL, and UM didn't look at Beard in their processes. We won't, UNC won't... every big brand program or school has the same issues when it comes to hiring him.

Yea. It's pretty darn clear he does not love Indiana. He loves Mike Woodson and Mike Woodson having a high paying and prestigious job. Now that Indiana is no longer going to give him that, it appears he actually has contempt for IU and I think we're going to see more of that on his way out. I'm still surprised how pathetic he is.

I don't think he said that on his call w/ AAU coaches, if he did there would be a firestorm right now. There were two separate things from Trilly: Brad has two weeks to decide and the AAU coaches call.

Just a guess -- but I bet Brad decides in a week or less. This decision doesn't take two weeks.

This is in the coaching candidate thread, but Trilly said Dolson is working to repair AAU/HS coach relationships in Indiana. The Woody White Knights can spare me their narrative about how we should support Woody now that he was fired. Not only was he a bad coach that divided the fanbase with his pathetic narratives, he also damaged IUBB recruiting. What a guy! And I bet he does more damage on his way out too.

Cleaning up after Woody is going to take some time. He is the worst. Literally.

I’m looking forward to Izzo praising Woody in the postgame like he usually does. I’m sure he loved him as IU’s coach and will miss having him here. Sorry Tom but he’s gone!
