  1. That's how I feel, and Goode would work well if he gets another year. I don't have an issue with Rice, I didn't hear anything bad about him this year (though I'm not super connected), and of course he overcame cancer which will always be impressive. He just got stuck on a Woody team and that is tough. Everyone else? If coach wants them and they have an epiphany they need to change, fine, but anyone else who goes I won't miss.
  2. Yea. Even with as much media as he does, doing prepped remarks when accepting a huge job is something different for him. And I agree, his element is talking bball.
  3. Going to be very interesting who he keeps from our current roster...
  4. I like his level demeanor and the Q&A was very good. Time to get to work Coach!
  5. Yes, he wants to schedule big games -- that's fun and like the whole point of having a bball program is winning games that matter. Love it.
  6. Not sure if that’s his wife, but if so she has the colors right.
  7. Yea. I’m not going to get too high or two low on what happens over the next month. I would like to see him show some recruiting chops — could be landing some top portal guys or flipping a Mullins/Haralson — I’ve got nothing specific in mind but you know what I mean. He’s got a $10-12M WAR CHEST so I would like to win some battles and I think he will. Edit: Also I want shooters after the last eight years I demand shooters.
  8. Great analysis. We are doomed. /s
  9. Dittos. It's college sports -- as we know it's a nasty zero sum game with effectively no rules when it comes to coaches and players. I'm also not going to feel bad if we take a bunch of their staff/players/recruits. This is the game.
  10. As a heads up, the 11:30AM intro presser will be on BTN (surprisingly not Foxsports) and Indiana Basketball’s Facebook page. Per Assembly Call.
  11. When assessing the athletic dept, like it or not, the focus has to be on the football program. Football is really all that matters financially to an athletic dept, even at a bball school, and what Scott has accomplished with this very important sport is exceptional. Through smart hires and securing significantly increased resources, Scott has managed to get IUFB on a path to get out of the bottom of the conference to midpack, which could change the entire financial profile of the athletic dept. I'm not saying we are going to have a season like 2024 again, but just being a decent to good program that sells out most games is a very big deal to the future of IU athletics. As for CDD, this is Scott's hire and Scott is ultimately responsible for IUBB's wins and losses. We'll probably only get spotty info on the search. I'm not sure it's fair to call CDD our 5th or 6th pick if some of the supposedly preferred picks are not actionable for any CBB program. Scott has navigated the insane politics of IUBB to fire Woody and still keep all the donors on side such that we have top-5 NIL/rev share available for the next coach. Not bad. But we'll have to see how CDD performs, that's all that matters, and it's way too early to tell. As for Scott overall, he has been doing a pretty darn good job the past few years. Things could go wrong of course, but so far… good stuff.
  12. We do like Rocks in Bloomington.
  13. Yea. I misread that tweet — it meant $7M for just NIL and then the rev share on top of that, and we are planning to be 2x the conference average on rev share. With that clarification it makes sense and I think our total player payroll number is fantastic.
  14. Yea, I caught that too, though $17M is IUBB's operating budget, basically all the expenses except the players. Yet another advantage at IU -- lots of money for assistants, recruiting travel, etc.
  15. Three years here and gets our name wrong.
  16. Final Four is in Indy next year so that should be convenient for us. ;-)
  17. Yea, plus we had two expensive guys in KC and Bryson who didn’t produce. Another $1.5M or something like that down the drain.
  18. Yes, I agree I was reading that wrong thank you. $7M for just the NIL portion is great.
  19. I really want them to lose him that would be funny. Sadly I think they will keep him, he just fits in at Purdoo.
  20. Osterman says we are going to be 2x the B1G avg for bball rev share. Of the $22M rev share, on avg around 75-80% goes to FB and that leaves $3-4M for bball with the remainder to other sports. Double the avg bball rev share is going to be something like $6-7M, then layer on the NIL on top of that and I think we need to be $10M+ rev share + NIL to be a top-10 payroll program. These are high level estimates, but you can see how $7M seems light.
  21. Just noting that $7M NIL + rev share isn’t good. I hope it’s much higher and I think it will be.
  22. You guys think Darian will ask Mike to leave the keys to the Fellas Lounge? (I don’t)
  23. Thanks. Makes sense. $4-6NIL and if the avg B1G bball rev share is $3-4M we are supposedly going to double that. Should be top-5 range again, top-10 at the worst. Can really only guess but it’s a lot for players.
  24. On half the NIL with a key player injury.
  25. Ha. Someone always knows. I can’t say I would have believed IUAnon.
